"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night!"

"Was that even in fucking English?"

Friday nights were something of pure bliss for Chanyeol. They allowed for so much freedom; he could go anywhere. Most often, on Friday nights, he could be found at the diner down the street, eating and conversing with the rest of the basketball team after a long day of school and practice. It was a tradition, of sorts, and he absolutely loved it.

This Friday, for the sake of the plot, was obviously different. Instead of being at the diner with everyone else, he sat in his living room, painfully listening to Chaejin recite lines from Romeo and Juliet while he tossed a basketball up into the air continuously.

"It's old English, Chanyeol," Chaejin was now saying, placing her hands on her hips. The papers she held in her right hand fluttered with her movements.

"Chae, I just heard ten words that I did not know even existed," he replied, now spinning the basketball around on the tip of his index finger. Chaejin just rolled her eyes as he continued to speak. "Why are you even reciting Romeo's lines? Aren't you trying out for Juliet?" His hand wobbled slightly as the ball nearly fell. "Can we take a break or something? I think my ears are starting to bleed."

Chaejin grunted, opposed to stopping, but took a seat beside him on the couch anyway. She flung the script papers down into the space between them. "I suck at acting."

"You're getting yourself worked up over absolutely nothing," Chanyeol told her, half of his focus on the ball and half of it on her. He then dropped the ball onto his lap and turned to her. "There are other guys that exist, you know. Guys that have similar interests to yours and won't force you to take up acting." He raised his brows, and when Chaejin didn't respond, he continued to talk. "What's got you so hung up on Jongin, anyway? He's just a guy."

"He's not just a guy, he's different," Chaejin defended.

"And how would you know that?" Chanyeol questioned.

"Observations," she replied smoothly, as if she didn't stalk Jongin on the daily. "He's not like all the other block-headed assholes that go to our school."

"I take offense to that as a block-headed asshole," Chanyeol said, hoping to get a laugh out of the girl sitting beside him. However, she seemed lost in her own world, probably not even hearing a word he said as she looked on wistfully into space.
