Chaejin could not stop sweating.

Six fifty-eight p.m on Saturday night found Chaejin pacing back and forth in her living room, stomach aflutter (with anxiety or indigestion from some bad sushi she had eaten earlier, she really couldn't tell). She felt as if she was soaked in sweat, and she was almost sure she would have had very visible pit stains, had it not been for her dress being a sleek jet black. Her parents had fussed over her earlier, this being the first time they had seen her in a dress since kindergarten. She had fanned them out of her room in a split second.

What was the cause for concern, though?

Jongin would be coming to pick her up in two minutes.

She flinched as she looked up at the wall clock nearby, the knot in her stomach growing even tighter.

Make that one minute.

"Jesus fuck, Chaejin, can you please stop doing that?"

Temporarily knocked out of her small panicked tizzy, Chaejin abruptly stopped and looked up, spotting Sehun poking his head into the living room from the kitchen, a scowl on his face.

"Can I stop doing what?" she asked, clearly confused.

"Stomping around like a horse," Sehun replied, referring to the incessant pacing she had been doing just a moment ago. "I know you're nervous, but I can hear you from all the way in here!"

"Leave her alone," someone sternly called out. A moment later, Haneul walked into the room, clearly feeling much better than she did the day prior. Upon seeing her, Sehun quickly disappeared back into the kitchen. Chaejin only let out a sigh as her friend smiled at her, handing her a wad of napkins she had plucked from the bathroom. "You look great. Sweaty, but great."

"I'm probably gonna flood his car," Chaejin grunted, dabbing at her forehead.

Haneul scrunched up her nose. "Ew." She then shook her head. "You'll be fine. I'm here for you, and if this whole thing doesn't work out, then that's ok too. Most high school relationships don't last anyway."

"Very encouraging," Chaejin deadpanned, managing to finish drying her skin just as the doorbell rang.

Unexpectedly, Sehun immediately dashed out of the kitchen to answer the door. Frightened, Chaejin ran right after him, arriving just as he swung the door open.

"So you're Jongin!" Sehun exclaimed with a smile, startling the poor guy, who was very nicely dressed in a dress shirt and a pair of black slacks. Sehun's expression suddenly shifted, turning dark. "Listen, if you even think of hurting my sister, I promise that I will personally make your life a living hell–"
