"Go, get thee hence, for I will not... I will not...uh..."
"Okay, cut!"
After school found Chaejin in the auditorium, up on the brightly lit stage with the rest of the cast for the scene they were running through. At that moment, she was supposed to be completely focused on rehearsals for the play. That proved to be a problem, however, as her head was occupied with other thoughts.
And all of them were of Park Chanyeol.
Her brain had outright refused to stop thinking about what had happened during their lunch break. She had managed to appear unbothered at the time, but what she was actually feeling was the complete opposite. Every time she moved, every time she spoke, every time she blinked, all she saw was the image of Chanyeol and Jangmi's faces smashed together, and it made her feel uneasy to the point where she was screwing up all her lines.
"Your line is "for I will not away,"" Baekhyun, sick of her bullshit by now, cried out from his seat at the front of the auditorium. Beside him, Kyungsoo held on tightly to the script, trying his best not to let his annoyance get the better of him and lash out at the girl.
"Sorry," Chaejin said dejectedly.
"Stop being sorry and get it right! Opening night is in three weeks, goddammit!" Baekhyun sharply retorted. After seeing Chaejin flinch at his harsh tone, he just let out a sigh. "Let's all take a five minute break."
Chaejin nodded weakly, letting out a deep breath as the rest of the cast and crew wandered off to separate parts of the auditorium to stretch their legs. She watched for a second as they all scattered, lost in her thoughts. She understood how important this whole production was to these people but, for some reason, she just couldn't focus on anything but the fact that Chanyeol and Jangmi were back together. It was irking her and she had no idea why.
Eyeing the people below her from up on the stage, she wondered how hard she'd have to fling herself off the edge to get a concussion. Maybe then she'd stop having these weird thoughts.
Shaking her head in an attempt to clear it, she began making her way off the stage, but had to stop once she felt someone tap her shoulder. Spinning around, she came face to face with Jongin, who had previously been sorting out some stuff backstage.
"Is everything ok?" he asked, looking worried. She nodded, but seeing him show so much concern for her suddenly made her feel guilty for thinking about another guy for the past three hours.
"I'm just tired," she lied, putting on a tight-lipped smile. "No need to worry."
"Ah," Jongin said, before smiling back at her. Soon after, his face lit up as he remembered something. "Oh, I was thinking we could go for ice cream or something after we're done here."
