Part 3

Adria: Earth

I sat with my grandpa in our little cabin. It had two bedrooms and a bath, and it wasn't too fancy. Most of the land's work was done by me or my grandpa normally. Recently though Gramps has been feeling under the weather so I've had to take care of things around the cabin. I hadn't realized just how much Gramps did until I was the one doing it all. Gramps isn't so sick that he'd kick the bucket anytime soon, but still I worry about him.

A crash came from outside. "Those damn kids again..." Gramps muttered under his breath. I stood and he grabbed my wrist. "Just leave it Adria." Gramps said quietly.

"No, I want to see who these punks really are." I said before I took my arm away. I could hear gramps sigh, but he didn't yell at me to come back as I ran out and around the cabin. I stopped at the sight of our trash cans knocked over and trash spread everywhere. A green light seemed to dash to my side and I knew I had got them. "Get back here you-" I cut myself off by taking off after the green light. I ran for a while and saw the light fade into the caves at the base of the mountain. I knew those caves like the back of my hand. This kid was definitely cornered.

I followed him into the cave and down to my favorite area. It was an area that had caved in a long time ago but still was accessible from the cave itself. It used to be a large cavern and I guess it still kinda was. Because it collapsed it didn't have a roof and you could see the mountain and up past the mountain into the great beyond. I paused for a moment looking around. There was no site of the kid. None. How did he get away? Then I saw the green light again this time it stood on some rocks a few feet away from me. It was no kid. Maybe an alien. It was crystal like and broad. I froze. Had I been chasing that thing this whole time? My eyes widened as I looked at this thing in front of me. It just stared.

Then

BOOOOOMMMM!

A loud boom went through the air. Dust kicked up and at first I thought it was just a tunnel collapsing or something. When I looked up though a yellow pillar of light was there. Only a few seconds later it happened again.

BOOOOOOOMMM!

A red pillar of light appeared. Then a few seconds again.

BOOOOOOOMMM!

A blue pillar of light. I then quickly remembered the creature in the cave with me. I snapped my head to look back at it but the only thing there was a pendant. It had a green gem and was wrapped in a brown wire or maybe leather? I couldn't tell and I hesitantly got closer. Once my face was close enough the necklace jumped and found its way onto my neck.

I jumped back but it was too late. A green beam of light flashed around me. It engulfed my body. It started from inside feeling warm like the core of the earth and it slowly worked out making my skin feel cold. I kept my eyes closed. My mind rushed and it was hard to tell how much time had passed when my feet were placed back down onto the earth.

When I opened my eyes my skin felt... Hugged? I looked down to see a skin tight suit on my body. It glowed green like the creature and stuck to my skin. I looked up to see if the other pillars were still there, but the only one that remained was the yellow one.

Then, almost like another voice had snuck into my mind, I wanted to go to that pillar. It was calling me. I lifted my feet and jumped. I had jumped to the surface. Who knew how high it was to the surface but I could tell you my Gramps is six foot two and he wouldn't even come close to touching the top. It didn't matter now though. I was sprinting for that light. I wasn't the only one. There was a red and blue glow just in front of me too. Was this a race?

 Was this a race?
