Abigail: Strangers and a Beam

Getting to the beam was easy. I got there quickly. I didn't realize others had followed.

The first one, beside me, was an Asian boy. He wore a blue skin tight suit like my red one. His hair was black and his face had a small cocky smirk. I would assume it was at my expression of surprise.

"Hey sparky." He said in a mocking tone.

I rolled my eyes and said, "buzz off."

He rolled his dark, almost black, brown eyes back and scoffed.

The next girl that came up was black. Her skin was dark but you could still see freckles lightly dusting her cheeks. Her green eyes stood out and her two fluffy buns rested on her head in an adorable fashion. She also wore one of these skin tight suits, just in green.

"whatcha lookin' at?" she snapped.

"Nothing just curious if you two found-" I was cut off by a lengthy, awkward kid tripping his way into the clearing with a loud "OFT!" He looked up at the three of us from his spot on the ground. He just got this embarrassed grin.

"Um... Hi." He said awkwardly. He wore a white skin tight suit. He awkwardly got up and dusted himself off. "So do any of you guys know what's going on?" he asked glancing up. We all stared silently at him.

"No." I said finally breaking the silence. "But whatever we do we better stay cautious." I said seriously.

"Who put you in charge?" The girl with the fluffy buns said.

"Excuse me?" I asked quietly. "I was just stating a fact everyone should know."

The green suited girl scoffed. Why was everyone scoffing at me when they were being rude first! It really boiled my blood.

The anger must have been visible on my face because mister blue suit decided to put his two cents in. "Ladies. Ladies. No need to fight. Why don't we let a man handle this?" He placed a hand on his own chest as if to say he'd handle it.

It honestly was like on TV. Me and miss green suit turned to him and both said, "Excuse you?"

I don't think you've ever seen two people so ready to defend each other right after fighting.

"STOP!" the awkward mister white suit chimed in. "We shouldn't fight. We all had to be brought here for a reason ... right?" His voice shrank quieter and quieter with each word. It was almost like he wasn't use to being listened to by more than two people.

Miss green suit rolled her eyes and faced the large pillar of light we stood before. "What do you think this thing is anyways?" she asked tilting her head to the side. Her two buns made her silhouette look interesting.

"Good question we shouldn't-" Miss green suit walked up to the beam and touched it. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" I screamed in panic.

She turned around and rolled her eyes. "Stop being so dramatic. It looks like we can go through." Miss green suit said.

"Don't go in there are you crazy?!" I said as she turned back, and, of course, ignored me. She stepped through the beam and disappeared in the yellow light. Mister blue suit quickly followed.

"God!" I said before I angrily rushed in after those two.

I shielded my eyes as I walked through the beam. The yellow light turned blindingly white. Suddenly I was picked up off my feet again and swooped away. It felt like I was on a roller coaster.
