Part 3
Adria: The Other Side isn't Greener
Land was obviously more of a concern than some stupid pieces of jewelry. The jewelry was probably this worlds replacement for crowns. It seemed simple enough. Land though, that seemed more important. Crops, housing and, most importantly, People come with land.
Everyone else seemed to disagree with my choice of asking about the land first but I could care less.
Princess Lanyia answered me. "All but Cameria..." Princess Lanyia looked down with sadness filling her eyes. "The only reason Cameria isn't taken is because of my pendants powers. I was able to mask Cameria but I may not be able to do it for long... That's why I called upon the pendants to choose you."
I then quickly asked another question. "How many kingdoms are now entangled in this 'dark force?'" I asked using air quotes around dark force.
"Four." Princess Lanyia said clearly. "Each Kingdom owns a different mass of land. It contains many towns and cities with in them. And millions of families... Children and parents being taken and forced into a horrible life style. Enslavement, forced to do unspeakable things, homicides and mass murders." Princess Lanyia seemed to get emotional and guess who was right there to calm her.
"Hey, it's ok we will help..." Wayne said comforting her. He had reached a hand out to gently rub her shoulder to comfort her. He basically promised us all into this.
Abigail and I gave each other a look. Abigail's look told me she was going to cry and that told me she was instantly in this at the mention of families. I knew now I wasn't getting out of this. I was about to ask another question when Elliot spoke up.
"What are these kingdoms and how exactly are we meant to help?" Elliot asked more focused and call as he realized the severity of this whole situation.
Princess Lanyia looked up at us. I know Abigail had fallen full heartedly at the mention of family just by her facial expression and obviously Elliot and Wayne were already fully into this whole "save the world" thing.
I let out a sigh. "Yeah if we are going to help. You need to let us know what we need to do in this world we've never been in." I said showing that I was just as head first into this idea as the others.
Princess Lanyia gave a gentle smile. "I see why they have chosen you four now." She wiped away her tears as she spoke in her shaky voice. "You must take over the other four kingdoms and give the freedom they so rightfully deserve. First is Flamira, the kingdom of Fire. Often the people are known for their warm hospitality and beautiful festivals. They can quite easily survive in high temperatures, but if they get to cold they can die and flicker out like flames. They were the first to be taken over. They will also be the easiest to help since naturally they have a more... empowered personality. A revolution wouldn't be hard to form there." She gestured to Abigail. Princess Lanyia then held out her pendant to show us a map. It projected out of her pendant like a weird map from a Sci-Fi show. "Flamira is the kingdom on the east Island."
She moved on to point at a what seemed like another island. "This is the Kingdom of Ertia mainly rock and mining but the towns and main city are extremely plentiful in plant life and crops. This was the second kingdom taken over." While talking she had moved to point to the Island to the west.
"What's the island in the middle and where is the other kingdom?" I was studying the map when I asked. The middle island had no name to it and for a world with five kingdoms there were only two listed.
"that's a good question." Princess Lanyia said quietly. "The third island is Cameria." She explained. "Our world is mostly water so Cameria was Built as its own new island. It is slightly small but it Does work well. It's moveable making it easier for us to hide and stay masked."
"So what about the other two?" I asked concerned about exactly what this meant. I looked around and the other three seemed just as concerned as I was.
"Well, Watearia is under water." The map then began to show a second layer and a third layer. On the second layer it showed an underwater kingdom (which was most likely Watearia) and on the third layer showed what seemed like cloud houses. "Watearia helps with water conversion for safe drinking and helps get foods like fish. They are creatures that breath and work with water. They were taken over swiftly after Ertia."
Wayne shuffled. "So like fish people?"
Princess Lanyia let out a small sad laugh. "Yes, lastly, is the Kingdom of Arthia. It's the kingdom of air. They live among the clouds and birds. They have both ships and cloud like structures to help support them. They were the last to be taken over because they move almost as much as Cameria." Princess Lanyia explained. "I think the best way to start is to go through the kingdoms the way they were taken over. It is the smartest and best option."
Once Princess Lanyiawas done we all sat in silence for a few moments. We all just thought. This wasa lot to take in. Is it really worth fighting for a world we had nothing to dowith? Would I see Gramps again? I don't want to leave Gramps alone. I alwaysthought being taken it a different world would be nice but... I guess the grassreally isn't greener on the other side.
