ELEVEN.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

THE SERPENT DANCE

I walked up onto the little stage they had looking around awkwardly at all the men that were watching me. I hope they enjoy this just as much as I will. Which is not at all.

The music started to play, and I started to walk around the stage in my heels ruffling my hair and playing with the hem of my blacktop. Once the music started to pick up, I took off my top causing some of the audience to cheer. I slowly pulled down my skirt revealing my full set of underwear. I traced my hand down my leg bending my back and putting my head back slowly and seductively. I walked around the pole with my holding onto it with my right hand, I did a quick spin on it not really knowing what I was doing.

Before I knew it, the music stopped, and Tall Boy came on the stage and put my Serpent jacket around my shoulders causing the White Whrym to erupt into cheers for their new Serpent. I walked down off the stage happy that not only was it over, but I was now an official Serpent. I quickly grabbed my clothes back on and slipped my arms into my new serpent jacket.

"Well, that's a sight I thought I'd never see. Izzy Jones in a Serpent jacket" I heard from behind me.

"Shut up Sweet Pea, I bet you loved watching me dance around the stage" I turned to look at the boy. He was smirking with his arms crossed over.

"Oh, trust me Iz, I very much enjoyed it" I rolled my eyes and shoved him out my way making my way over to Jughead and Toni "Well look at me, a newly minted Serpent" I joked giving Jughead and hug. "Well I'm going to see Veronica see if I can sort this mess out"

"What mess have you got yourself into this time Shortie?"

"None of your business Sweetie Pie" I walked past him out of the Whrym to meet Veronica at Pops.

"Look, Ronnie, I don't know what came over me. I think it was just the stress of the night taking its toll. I was not in my right mind and completely regret all of my actions. I can assure you that I do not have any feelings for Archie. At all. I don't want any enemies, so I hope that we can figure this out" I explained to her.

"I accept your apology"

"You have every right to be mad, I... wait for what?"

"Look Iz, I know that feeling. I did that to Betty once, so I think it would be a little hypocritical to not forgive you for something that I have done in the past" I squealed before going around to her side of the booth to give her a hug. "In honour of our fresh start, I want to invite you to a party that my friend Nick from New York is hosting"

"I would love to come, Ronnie"

"Good, because it starts now" I laughed a little before joining in on her journey to the hotel that her friend was staying at. I'm guessing Veronica and Archie sorted everything out as she walked straight up to him and gave him a hug. I saw that Betty, Reggie, Kevin, Cheryl and the Pussycats as well as Nick who was hosting the party.

"Then we walk into the Gilded Lily and there's Gal again," Nick told us.

"Gal?"

"Gadot. Archie keep up"

Veronica turned to Archie with her empty glass raised "Archiekins, a refill s'il vouz plait?" He sighed before standing with the glass anyway. We were all starting to get quite drunk except for Betty who didn't really feel like partying.

"Forget the teetotaling" Nick continued sitting beside Cheryl "Let's move to something with a little more kick"

"Is that..." Cheryl started.

"Jingle-Jangle? Why yes, it is" We all looked at each other sceptically minus Reggie and Nick.

"I hooked him up" Reggie announced making me roll my eyes a hit his arm.

"Tasters? Who's up first?" Nick asked.

"No one's doing that"

"Archie, don't take this the wrong way, but you are an epic buzzkill" Once again we looked at each other in an awkward manner this time as he turned to Veronica "Come one V. Like back in the day?" Veronica laughed at him "Aren't you supposed to be showing me a good time, per Daddy's orders?"

"Down Nicky. I'm just getting going. and now that you mention it, I, in fact, wouldn't mind a little sugar to spice up this party. What? Every other day it's burgers and milkshakes. Can't we just cut loose and act like normal teenagers for once?" Veronica justified herself, but also encouraged the others.

"I'm in" Cheryl took a stick. Eventually, everyone had taken one minus Betty and me who opted out. I'm not taking drugs when there's a stranger present no matter how drunk I am.

"Come in Iz and Betty, it'll be fun" Veronica tried to persuade us.

"We said no, Veronica" Betty answered for us.

"Ok Betty, calm down. it's strictly voluntary"

Betty and Veronica had this huge argument, so I said I would go after her, but I ended up losing her on the street outside the hotel. The alcohol had finally kicked in and I was now wondering the streets completely wasted. I pulled my Serpent jacket closer to my body feeling it starting to get colder. I decided to make my way to the White Whrym considering I knew there would be people I know there.

As I was stumbling around outside the venue, I heard someone walking behind me. I turned around to come face to face with a masked face. Before I even had the chance to run, he had shot his gun and sprinted away. I fell onto my knees holding my stomach where the bullet had hit.

Before my head could hit the concrete floor beneath me, a pair of hands had caught my head. "Shit, shit, shit. JUGHEAD!" Sweet Pea was shouting trying to get the attention of the boy who was looking around trying to find the source of the loud sound. As soon as he'd seen me he ran over and pressed his hands to my wound.

"It's ok, everything is going to be ok," Jughead said assuring himself more than me tears falling like a stream out of his eyes. Sweet Pea was stroking my hair with my head in his lap and Toni was on the phone to the ambulance. People were running around yelling but they all merged into blurs of nothingness. Slowly, I felt my consciousness slip away.
