CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

HE'S BACK

I had been alone for quiet a while now so I just assumed that Jughead was staying at Archie's or Betty's. I quickly took out my phone and texted Sweet Pea to come to my trailer. With everything going around I don't feel very safe on my own anymore. There were a few knocks on the door so I ran to open it and jumped into to Sweet Peas arms.

"God, I feel like I haven't seen you in ages" I pulled my head away from his neck smiling widely at him.

"I know babe, it's been a while" He chuckled lightly and pulled me in for a quick kiss. I finally pulled away from the hug, closing and locking the door behind us. I dragged Sweet Pea to the sofa quickly jumping on it and getting into a comfortable position.

"I'm scared Sweets. After everything that's happened, I'm scared that he will come back to finish me off"

"Iz. Stop. I will not let anything happen to you ever again. It pained me so much to see you that way and I swore myself to protect you. You are a good person albeit a little crazy sometimes but you have a good heart. And... I" He sighed before grabbing my hands looking deep into my eyes "I love you, Izzy. So much" My heart started beating like crazy so I grabbed his face pulling his lips onto mine.

"I love you too Sweet Pea" He grinned before grabbing my waist and pulling me so that I was straddling him so he could start a heated make-out session. He then lifted us up and brought to my bedroom and well... you know what happens next.

I was walking to my next class holding hands with Sweet Pea when Jughead came running up to me smiling like a mad man. "Izzy! It's Dad! He's getting out of jail"

"What! Oh my god!" I almost screamed jumping into Jugheads arms and squeezing him like crazy. "I can't believe it!" I smiled tears running down my face cause of how happy I was.

He grabbed my face wiping away the tears "I'm going to tell Arch and Veronica do you wanna come?"

"Yeah, of course, let me just say bye to Sweets" I turned around to see him grinning happily that his leader was finally coming back I hugged him tightly quickly explaining where I was going before grabbing Jughead's hand and running with him to make our way to our friend's school.

"So, the reason I called you guys in here..." Jughead started.

"Our dads getting out of jail" I shouted excitedly Jughead smiled at me before turning to the others. Archie and Veronica looked at each other shocked for a minute before they started to smile.

"Jug, Iz that's great," Archie said, Veronica, agreeing with him.

"What heralded this miracle?" Veronica asked us.

Jughead glanced at Archie quickly before answering "uh... overcrowding at the jail. I guess the judge reviewed our dad's case, and after Cheryl's testimony, it was a perfect storm" The look that he gave Archie and the way the Veronica didn't look very convinced made me question whether or not Jughead was telling me the full truth.

"What do you need from us, Jug?" Archie questioned.

"Both of us. We have a new lead on the Black Hood case." I leaned into Betty far more intrigued with this conversation "And Jughead and I were wondering if you would follow it up for us. We can give you the details, the articles" She turned around grabbing some papers from behind her.

"It's just, I have to be there for my dad, help with his re-entry so..."

"uh, yeah, and I'm just taking a break from the Black Hood"

"Wait so, you want us to be... you guys?" Veronica asked them confused.

"Essentially, yes" Jughead put his arm around Betty amused "What? Is there a problem with that?" He pressed. Veronica shook her head making me chuckle lightly at the entire situation. I grabbed my bag saying kudos to everyone before making my way back to the hell that is Southside High.

Jughead stood up in front of everyone at the White Whrym. "We have an announcement to make" I shouted over everyone making them all quiet down.

"Our dad's getting out" Jughead smiled at everyone who started to whoop and clap. I winked at sweet Pea who was clapping with a big adorable smile on his face. "When he does, I'll bring up to speed about our plans with Mayor McCoy"

"That's brilliant" Tall Boy huffed slamming his glancing onto the table.

"Do you have a problem with the Tall Boy" I shouted about to walk up to him but Jughead grabbed my arms holding me back before I could.

"Your old man?" He said stating up out of his chair which made Sweet Pea take a cautious step towards me. "No. I got no problem with him. But you guys want us to sit down with the Mayor"

"I do. He's right" Jughead confirmed. "I think we can bring the Southside back. But it's gonna take work. And it's gonna take compromise"

"We can bring the Southside back. You and your midget sister have been here all of five minutes" He chuckled lowly.

"Tall Boy, I am sick of you acting like a little bitch, whispering behind Jugheads back that he is half a serpent or that we don't belong here. Why don't we put it to a vote? If you guys think what we are doing is wrong, we will step aside" I said trying to get in his face which took a lot of effort considering how much smaller I was than him.

"All those who stand with the Jones twins and think Tall Boy should shut the hell up?" Toni compromised. Sweet Pea and Toni raised their hands first followed by the majority of the other Serpents making me smirk at Tall Boy as he exited the bar accepting his defeat.
