Hailey's POV:
It was just a normal cold winter day in Chicago.
That was until my mother came home.
I sat on my lumpy bed scrolling through my Instagram feed, but I was soon interrupted by my mom's loud voice that boomed through the house.
"Guys come down stairs for a family meeting now." I heard my mom say.
I turned off my phone and ran down the stairs confused. Family meetings were usually not that good.
"I have some news for you." My mother said.
Me and Luke looked at each other.
"I have just got offered a better job that will pay more." She said.
"That's great!" I said with excitement.
"But the thing is it's in North Carolina." Mom said.
My smile dropped instantly.
"So what does that mean?" I asked already knowing the answer.
"We are moving."
I felt the color drain from my face.
We are moving. Great. Just what I wanted. I mean I have a great life here in Chicago like my hockey career and my friends.
Silence filled the room.
"When are we moving?" Luke asked.
"Friday." She said.
Two days. Only two days left in the the city we called home.
"Are you fucking serious mom? You should have told us sooner!" I spat.
"Language Hailey!" She said.
I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door shut. I felt the tears start to come.
This was my home I couldn't leave.
I cried and cried and no one came.
•
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I rolled over and shut off my alarm. Friday. Today's the day we move.
I get up and take a quick shower. After the shower I picked out some comfortable clothes for the long car ride. I decided on a pair of black leggings, my tan ugg boots, and my red Magcon sweatshirt. I put on some mascara and a little makeup. I wasn't a really big fan of makeup. I straightened my long dark brown hair and decide to top the outfit off with a black beanie.
I started to pack all of my stuff into boxes. While I was packing I came across a picture my dad. I felt a tear in the corner of my eye.
I put the picture in the box and finished packing.
Me and Luke put all our boxes in to the moving truck.
After that I got into the car and prepared for the 6 hour car ride to North Carolina. I decided to check Vine and looked at a new one Hayes posted. I continued to look through my vine feed at all the new ones.
I plugged my headphones in and put on some music and I felt myself start to fall asleep.
•
I woke up to my mom shaking me. I adjusted my eyes to the brightness around me. I looked around at the surroundings and then at our new house. Me and Luke got all of the of the stuff out of the moving truck and brought it into the house. That's when I saw two boys playing basketball next door. The one was on top of the other trying to get the ball. I silently giggled to myself .
Boys will be boys.
"Earth to Hailey." Luke said.
"Oh sorry." I said.
" I saw you. You were checking those boys out." Luke said with a devilish smile on his face.
"No I wasn't." I blushed a little.
" Whatever. You better not be." Luke said.
Mom had told me to go next door to the new neighbors house and try to make new friends. I realized that I had to go to those boys house. I started walking over to their house. I rang the door bell. A boy with dark brown hair and blue eyes opened the door. It was the one and only Nash Grier. He stared back at me with those blue eyes.
"Hi. I'm Hailey and I'm one of your new neighbors. We just moved here from Chicago." I said nervously.
"Hi Hailey. I'm Nash Grier but I'm guessing you already know who I am by the look on your face and nice sweatshirt by the way." He said smirking.
My sweatshirt! Damn it. I wanted a good first impression, not to be known as some crazed fan.
"Well Shit." I mumbled under my breath looking away.
I felt my face heat up.

Nash's POV:
Ding Dong!
"Nash get the door!" Mom screamed from the kitchen.
"Fine." I said pausing the Tv and getting up.
I opened the door to find our new neighbor. She had hazel eyes and long brown hair. She was wearing a Magcon sweatshirt and a beanie.
"Hi I'm Hailey. We just moved here from Chicago." She said.
"I'm Nash but I'm guessing you already know that by the look on you face and nice sweatshirt by the way." I said.
She turned red.
"Well shit." She mumbled loud enough that I could hear.
I smirked at her remark.
"It's okay. I love my fans. Especially ones that are pretty." I said and winked at her.
Just then Hayes walked up behind me.
"Nash who is at the door?" Hayes asked as he looked at Hailey.
"Hailey this is Hayes and Hayes this is Hailey." I said.
"Hi." They said to each other.
" So Hailey how old are you?" Hayes asked.
"14." she said.
"Me too, so I guess you will have someone you know when school starts." Hayes said and smiled.
I couldn't keep my eyes off of her.
"Well I got to go" She said walking away.
"Wait." Hayes said.
"Yes?" She said turning around.
"Maybe can we have your number so we can hangout sometime?" Hayes asked.
"Yeah. I would really like to get to know you better." I said.
She smiled. "Sure"
Me and Hayes gave her our phone numbers and she gave hers to us.
"I call dibs on her" Hayes said as soon as I closed the door.
"You can't call dibs on a girl." I said.
"Well I just did."
