Chapter 27

Hailey's POV:

They just kept looking at each other and smiling.

"What?" I asked them.

"Well, the thing is we are not just visiting." Natasha said.

"Then what are you doing here?" I asked confused.

"Hailey, we all moved here a few days ago. We all live a few houses down." Natasha said smiling.

"Really?! Omg that's awesome!" I said.

"Yeah." Nick said.

The rest of the night was a blur. I don't remember anything that happened after that because I fell asleep.

The next morning I woke to my phone vibrating in my back pocket. I looked at it and it was a reminder that I had hockey practice in an hour. I locked my phone and looked around at everyone else. They were all sleeping so peacefully.

I went up stairs and made myself some breakfast. I got dressed and grabbed my hockey bag. My mom was at work so I had no car. But, Nick had his car. I quickly ran down stairs and woke Nick up.

"Hey can you drive me to hockey practice?" I whispered carful not to wake anyone else up.

"Yeah sure. Let me go grab my shoes and I'll meet you in the car." He said.

I went and put my stuff in his trunk. I climbed into the passenger seat and waited for him. I watched as he approached the car.

"What the hell took you so long!" I said to him.

"Good morning to you too." Nick said sarcastically.

"Can you just drive!" I said

"Ok! Jeez I will!" He said putting his hands up in surrender.

He started to pull out of the driveway.

"So where too?" He asked.

"The ice arena. It's just around the corner." I said.

He started to drive down the long road.

"So what made you ask me for a ride? You wanted to have bonding time with your cousin?" Nick said sticking his tongue out.

"Shut the fuck up. You were the only one that had a car here." I said.

I looked out the window and saw that we were coming up to the arena.

"We are here." Nick said.

"Thanks pick me up at 12:30?" I said getting out of the car before he could say no for an answer.

I walked into the arena and went straight to the locker rooms. I got my gear on and went on the ice.

I grabbed a loose puck and shot it at the goal. Daniel blocked it and gave me a dirty look. Wtf did I ever do to him.

The rest of the practice went by fast and consisted of Daniel giving me dirty looks.

I went into the locker room after practice and got changed. I saw Daniel and went up to him because I wanted to know what his problem was.

"Daniel what the fuck is your problem?" I said.

He turned around and looked at me.

"What is my problem? My problem is you." He spat angrily at me.

"What did I ever do to you?!" I said.

"Well first off we went on a date and you never talked to me after that. Secondly, you never even bothered to say hi to me." He said with his voice cracking.

"I'm the problem!? Your the one who keeps giving me dirty looks whenever I look at you and you keep yelling at me for no reason." I said on the verge of crying.

It was silent for a couple of seconds before Daniel said anything.

"Look I'm sorry Hailey. Maybe I was just overreacting and being a dick." Daniel wiping my tears away and bringing me into a hug.

"It feels good to have my best friend back." I said smiling.

"Yeah. I have to go, but I'll see you later?" He said.

"Ok. Bye." I said and ran out to Nick's car.

I opened the car door and sat down in the front seat.

"So how was practice?" He asked pulling out of the parking lot.

"Good I guess." I said looking out the window.

We pulled up to my house a few minutes later.

"Thanks for the ride." I said getting out of the car.

"Anytime." He said then pulled out of my driveway.

I walked into my house expecting to everyone there still but it was completely empty. I went up to my room and stripped off my clothes and hopped into the shower. When I got out I decided to put on some leggings and a Nike sweatshirt.

I looked at my phone and I saw that I had a text message.

It was from Nash.
