chapter two that stupid fucking soulmate thing

millie was reluctant.

she kept leaning forward but she couldn't find the courage to write.

just fucking do it.

millie breathed in, and wrote a diminutive hi on her left wrist, before breathing out.

at that same time, finn wolfhard sat at a booth alone in pop's chock-lit shop, chomping on a burger sitting in between his hands.

then, he noticed something. weird.

there was a 'hi' written in cursive on his wrist. he furrowed his brows, but after a few minutes of thinking he realized.

that stupid fucking soulmate thing.

not wanting to waste time on his feelings, he shrugged it off, it's not like his 'soulmate' was in this town, anyway.

millie pouted when she saw that he didn't reply, she walked to the bathroom slouching, and washing her hand. perhaps she'll have to wait longer.

let's try again, tomorrow.

millie sighed, before throwing herself on her bed, a squeaking noise rippling her action.

she laid on stomach, thinking about her soulmate- where is he from? is he my age? is he cute?

her train of thoughts was interrupted by a ringing noise coming from her phone that sat on her bedside table.

'maddie zieg is calling' millie accepts the call, now sitting up, tucking her brown hair behind her ear, pressing the phone onto it.

"hey, zieg. what's up?"

"me and lils have a plan for tonight!"

"explain?"

"movie night with jackie and jae." maddie squealed.

millie scoffed. "no thanks. i'd rather watch a movie in peace without couples sucking face within my presence." she joked half-heartedly.

on the other side of the line, maddie's lips formed an 'o'. "what the actual fuck, millie."

"madds, chill, i was just jo-"

"you know what? i think i get why your reputation is going down the drain. you don't have a soulmate. and why don't you have one yet? because you are one annoying, jealous, unapprieciating, cunt! and maybe, when you start to see the real beauty in having a soulmate you'll get your head out of your ass." the ziegler girl huffed.

millie ended the call, her face red and jaw clenched.

with utter disgruntlement, she grabbed the pink marker, and wrote on her forearm, will you stick with me unlike everyone does?
