Chapter 7

July 1st:
Today I woke up. I felt like I was drowning from all the misery. It's my fault though. I should have just told the truth. I got up out of bed and put on a nice outfit. I walked outside and headed down to the lake. I took off my shoes and put my toes in the water. The first thing I thought of was that song from The Zac Brown Band. It's called Toes.

I started to sing it. A couple minutes later, I was done singing it. I heard someone walking behind me. I realized it was Shawn. He was ignoring me and so I did the same. I pulled out my notebook and decided to write a song. I started tapping my pencil on my notebook and wrote a song called "You". It is meant to be a duet, but I don't think I'll be to sing it with anyone. No one has talked to me since the incident with Shawn happened. The only people that have is my cabin. My cabin isn't across from Shawn's. It now next to his which makes me kind of upset. I continued to write the song until I decided to go back to my cabin and figure out what cords I want to play.

I walked back to my cabin and grabbed my uke. I took out my song book and sat in the area where we normally had a campfire at. I took one of the chairs and sat down. I decided I wanted to play C, Dm, F, and then G. It went in that same order. I decided to go back in my cabin.

Shawn's Point of View:
I decided to take a walk down to the lake today. I went down there but I heard the girls voice again. She finished the song. I walked towards the dock only to see Haley sitting there. She broke my heart. I decided the girl singing wasn't her. I continued to walk until she started to sing. She was coming up with another original song. It was actually nice. I was walking back to my cabin when I heard her again. She was playing Haley's song that Haley written earlier. I really liked it. Who ever my mystery lady is, she can sing. I started running to make sure I didn't miss her, but I was too late again. About 5 seconds later I saw Haley walk out of her cabin, so I decided to hurry up and get into mine.

Haley's Point of View:
I walked out of my cabin to see Shawn walking into his. I took a deep breath and continued to walk. I could feel him staring at me. About 10 minutes later, I was at the piano room waiting to see what we were going to play today. "Hi guys. Today I want everyone to play Something Just Like This By Coldplay and The Chainsmokers. Except the once person that is sitting at the white piano" Shawn said. I quickly realized that one person was me. "What should I play then?" I asked him. "Absolutely Nothing" he said to me. I got up, and walked out of that classroom. I started to cry. I went to this camp to learn music, not to cry over guys all the time, well over one guy. For the first time, Shawn didn't chase after me. "I'm stronger than before" I told myself. I then wiped the tears away from my eyes and headed back in. I sat down at the white piano and played Something Just Like This. I didn't care what Shawn said. I may be a miner, but that doesn't mean he can do this stuff to me.

After piano, we all headed down to get dinner. Luke came up to me and we ended up become great friends that night. We all went back to our cabins and gathered in the center for a campfire. I brought my uke out. We decided to sing Hey There Delilah, Ride, and The Water fountain by Alec Benjamin (the song is at the top Incase you never heard it). After that, all of us headed back to there cabins besides Shawn and I. I walked up to him and said "Hey. I'm sorry that I lied to you. I know you don't want to talk to me. You don't have to, but I want you to hear me out. I should have told the truth and I shouldn't have lied. I became good friends with you, and I ruined what we had. I should have never did that. I hurt you and I never planned on doing that. I just wanted to say that I truly am sorry" I said. I turned around and went back into my cabin. He didn't say anything. I got ready for bed and thought about what I just did and I'm glad to do it. About 5 minutes later I heard a tapping on my wind.

Shawn's Point of View:
Haley just apologized to me. She was in her cabin by the time I went to say her name. I went into my cabin, think about what she just said. I got ready for bed until I realized "I can't do this". I needed to tell her I accept her apology and I need to find out the real reason behind why she did it. I put on my jacket and my Converse and headed outside. I tapped on her window. I was hoping that she would hear me and come outside. About 5 seconds later my prayer was answered. "Shawn?" She said.....
