Chapter Nine: Thanksgiving Break

Hello again guys! I was over looking at some of the comments on my previous chapters and I saw that some of you guys kept commenting on wanting Peeta and Katniss together. I just wanted to say, I'm not trying to rush my story, it will eventually happen. Just be patient with me guys, I promise it will happen, very soon. ;)

This weekend I'm leaving to Jacksonville and I'm gonna be there for at least 2 weeks, maybe more. I will try to update my stories when I'm over there. I can't promise you guys frequent updates when I'm over there but what I can say is i'll try to update at least once or twice on each of my stories.

*A Month Later*

*Peeta's POV* 

Today's the last day before Thanksgiving Break. I bounce my leg rapidly as I continue to glance at the clock. I'm waiting desparately for the bell to ring so I can finally go home. "Psst." I turn my face to Finnick who's sitting right next to me. 

"Annie and I are going to the Hospital after school to visit Katniss. You should come Peeta," Finnick suggests. I sigh and shake my head. "My mom wants me home right after school ends," I lie.

Finnick scoffs and says,"Bullshit. Me and you both know that's a lie. We both know that she's out of town this weekend."

"Peeta, you haven't visited Katniss ever since we found out she was in a Coma," He states. I sigh and run my fingers through my hair. "I know," I say. 

"Why? Why are you avoiding her?" Finnick questions. "I'm not avoiding her Finnick," I say, putting my Ecomomics textbook in my backpack. "Then why haven't you visited her?" He questions again.

I sigh and look down at my desk. "Oh, I see," Finnick says. I look at him and he's grinning. "Your avoiding her so you can hide the fact that you care about her and that you still love her. You don't love Glimmer. You still love Katniss and you won't except that you do because you've been chasing Glimmer for a long time."

I shake my head and say,"I don't like Katniss. I like Glimmer."

Finnick rolls his eyes and says,"You still love Katniss and she likes you back. C'mon Peeta, wake up! Katniss is right, Glimmer doesn't love you. She's only with you because of the fact that you're a Victor. But Katniss, she likes you for you Peeta. If you continue dating Glimmer, you've probably lost the best thing that's ever happened to you." 

I don't even know what to say to that. 

The bell rings and I get up from my chair. I look at Finnick and say,"I'll see you tomorrow." I turn in my classwork to Mr. Flavius and leave the classroom. I turn into the hallway where my locker is and see Glimmer leaning on my locker. I smile and walk over to her.

"Hey," I say, kissing her cheek after. "Hey, my parents are gone the weekend. I was thinking you can come over and we take our relationship to the next level," She says, pulling me closer to her. I smirk and say,"Sounds interesting." 

She smiles and kisses my lips. "Wanna come over?" She asks. Suddenly, I find myself thinking about Katniss. I think about her laugh, her smile, her beautiful eyes.

Maybe I should go visit her. "I can't. Uh, my mom is making me work until late today," I lie. She scoffs and rolls her eyes. "Your a disappointment, like always," She spits at me.

She shakes her head and pushes me out of the way. I watch her walk down the hallway. I sigh and walk out of the school. 

I walk to the parking lot and see Finnick, Annie and Johanna where Finnick's car is parked. I shake my head and walk to my pick up truck.
