"There you go," Ron said. "We got as much as we could carry"

A shower of brilliantly coloured sweets fell into mine and Harry's lap. It was dusk, and Ron and Hermione had just turned up in the Common Room, pink-faced from the cold wind and looking as though they'd had the time of their lives.

Things have been slightly awkward between me and Harry since we nearly kissed. But neither of us had brought it up. Does this mean mine and Harry's friendship is over?

"Thanks," I said, picking up a packet of tiny black Pepper Imps. What's Hogsmeade like? Where did you go?"

By the sound of it - everywhere. Dervish and Banges, the wizarding equipment shop, Zonko's Joke Shop, into the Three Broomsticks for foaming mugs of hot Butterbeer and many places besides.

"The post office! About two hundred owls, all sitting on shelves, all colour-coded depending on how fast you want your letter to get there!"

"Honeydukes have got a new kind of fudge, they were giving out free samples, there's a bit, look -"

"Wish we could have brought you both some Butterbeer, really warms you up -"

"What did you two do?" Hermione asked, looking anxious. "Did you get any work done?"

"No," Harry said.

I looked at Hermione. "I need to talk to you"

Hermione muttered an 'Okay' before I dragged her to the other side of the Common Room where no one was and where no one would hear us. I looked back at Ron and Harry and saw that they too were deep in conversation. Harry looked upset and Ron looked shocked. What were they talking about?

"What's wrong?" Hermione asked.

"Me and Harry nearly kissed," I said quickly, wide-eyed.

Hermione stared at me for a moment. Her eyes wide and her mouth moving but no sound came out. Finally, after a couple of seconds, she spoke.

"You what?" she asked.

"Nearly kissed," I told her again, playing with my hands.

Hermione gasped. "What happened? What do you mean by 'nearly'? Are you two a couple?"

I laughed. "Slow down. No, we're not a couple, "I sighed. "We were walking and he was saying how glad he is that I'm his friend and he started leaning in, I started leaning in, our lips almost touched then...then the footsteps broke us apart before we could kiss"

"Have you spoken to him about this?"

I shake my head. "To be honest, I don't think he wants to. Things have been awkward between us since. I'm scared I've lost him forever"

"You haven't lost him," Hermione pats my shoulder. "Just talk to him. See how he feels. You'll be surprised at what you'll find out"

I sigh. "I guess. Anyway, I suppose we should tell you what happened with Lupin"

I smile and slowly walk back towards Ron and Harry. Harry noticed me walking towards them and quickly stopped talking which only means they were talking about me. I sit next to Ron forcing Hermione to sit next to Harry. She gave me a 'talk to him' look but I shook my head.

"What did you two do today then?" Ron asked, looking at me and judging by the look on his face, he knows about me and Harry. I sighed.

"Lupin made us a cup of tea in his office. And then Snape came in..." Harry said.
