A/N: This is NOT a complete story. This is a 800-word action scene for the "Write To Rank" competition. I hope you like it

"Where are you?"

"At the last door."

"Will you make it?"

"I already did."

Rene Fox placed her phone over the digital lock in front of a large wooden door. As soon as it unlocked, the agent kicked down the door and entered confidently. To her misfortune, instead of her target she found two guns aiming at her.

"I've been expecting you" a voice was heard from the back of the room.

A dark figure looked out the window, a flute of champagne in hand.

"Drop your weapon" they ordered.

Rene approached her hand in her jacket's inside pocket.

"With your other hand. On second thought, Jake, you take it. I've heard that she knows how to shoot just as well with both. I do not wish to find out if it's true" the figure said and looked at Rene through the reflection of the window.

"Are you afraid of me, darling? I'd do the same if I were you" Rene boldly said, while one of the two guards put his hand in her jacket.

When he made the mistake of groping her breast, the agent shot up her leg and kicked the man in the chest. Before the other could react, Rene grabbed the gun and punched him in the face, sending him to fly backwards. But before she turned to her target, a shot was fired, and Rene felt her arm go numb.

"I wouldn't keep this up if I were you. The next shot will find you in the head" the figure threatened, and turned to look at Rene, revealing her charming female features.

Still aiming at the agent, she threw her dyed blonde hair back from her beautiful baby blue eyes, which were full of hatred and greed.

"Jane Rodriguez ... I'm so glad that we finally meet" Rene told her, unable to hold back a sarcastic tone.

"Right back at you, Rene. I have long been hoping for this face-off. You know, messing with opponents you know from the first moment that you'll take them down before they can even speak..."

"It deprives you of the adrenaline rush and the whole showdown loses its interest" Rene completed.

"Exactly" Jane replied.

Rene looked at the gun barrel that was still pointing over her.

"What makes you think I'll be afraid of you?" she asked her opponent.

"Common sense" answered her.

"I have abandoned common sense a long time ago. That's why I've never been beaten" Rene said, looking at Jane without a trace of fear in her eyes.

"We're very much alike, Rene. Our only difference, is that you are alone, while I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve" she told her.

The next moment, a bulky man grabbed Rene by the arms and forced her to sit on a wooden chair, on which he tied her.

"You know, Jane, our main difference is that I am able to fight alone, while you, without your minions, are nothing" Rene spat out, looking at her deprecatingly.

"You're playing with fire" Jane threatened.

"Always" Rene snapped back.

Filled with rage and hatred for the agent, Jane grabbed a knife and stabbed her palm, which was tied on the chair's armrests. Rene didn't yelp, she didn't even seem to be in pain.

"Is this the best you can?" she provocatively asked.

"No, my dear, but this is the best way to get started" Jane replied, and pulled the knife out of Rene's hand.

She grimaced.

"Did I hurt you, sweetheart?" she asked her.

"Of course I'm in pain... You had one job to do, and you're stepping on my foot" Rene provocatively said.

"You're pushing it, and it will do you no good" Jane warned her.

"Try me. Although, if I was in your position, I would untie me. Do it, and I will be lenient" the agent advised.

"What are you going to do?" Jane mocked her, thinking Rene was incapable of reacting.

Rene smiled, as if she was thanking her for giving her the freedom to attack. She relaxed her arm muscles, causing the ropes to loosen. She pulled her gun, shot the guard, and then turned to Jane.

"I can't believe you fell for it... Now, untie the rest without trying anything funny" she demanded.

Jane was forced to obey.

"I once told my boss that I could defeat my enemies even in a chair. He thought it was a figure of speech but, unfortunately for you, it wasn't" Rene confidently said.

"Here, I untied you. I expect an at least favorable treatment" Jane asked, trying to hide how afraid she was.

"You have killed, deceived, betrayed your country and ideals, if you ever even had any. The best I can do is make it quick" Rene said coldly.

Jane didn't get to answer.
