"Hello?" Whimsy shouted as she tried looking through the thick foliage of trees.
Whimsy was in a borderline of the Tundra and Swamp, a forest of disgusting smells and pure white snow. It was a, unique, area to put it lightly. A few hours earlier, when it was still night, Geek had gone off to investigate that strange light that came from the Extinction Zone. He didn't come back. Then, about one hour ago she'd gotten a message from someone telling her to meet them in this forest. She had high hopes that it was Geek, but she couldn't be sure. That was why she had her guard up, just in case. Just like Geek had taught her.
"Hello?" Whimsy repeated, trying to get some answer from anywhere.
As she moved, she heard sudden rustling in the bushes, catching her immediate attention. She turned to face the noise, but heard more rustling behind her yet again. She turned again, and the sound repeated. Now she was worried. Whimsy kept moving through the forest, ignoring the rustling in the bushes. Finally, after a few more minutes of ignoring and moving, she couldn't take it anymore. She turned around to face the bushes, to see who was following her, and she came face to face with a frowning Riolu under a hood. Whimsy nearly lost it and screamed, but Geek's hand was over her mouth before she could let it out. They stood there, Geek's hand over Whimsy's mouth, for several seconds before Whimsy finally began breathing again. That's when Geek took his hand off of her mouth and put a finger up to his.
"Why do we need to be quiet?" Whimsy asked, puzzled.
"It's a long story, just hear me out. I went to investigate that light, right?" Geek began.
"Yeah," Whimsy followed.
"Well, turns out the light was from the Tower of Legends. I went in to check it out, and there were signs of a struggle. Then, this weird Riolu came out of nowhere, and this other weird Pokemon who I didn't see started talking about how they needed me for something," Geek continued.
"Uh huh?" Whimsy replied.
"Well, I ended up having to fight Dialga. No big deal right? But that's when the Riolu got involved. He just..." Geek trailed off, staring into space with eyes widening in terror.
Geek started trembling.
"He what?" Whimsy asked, concern in her voice.
"He just... snapped. He became this... FREAK. I used everything I had on him," Geek finished.
"That sounds bad," Whimsy said, trying to play it off cool.
"Whimsy, you don't understand," Geek blurted out, his body and voice still trembling, "I used everything I had, and it didn't. Even. Flinch."
Whimsy's whole body vibrated for a moment as the words echoed across the woods. From what she'd heard, Whimsy was being faced with the idea that there was another Riolu out there capable of not taking any damage from Geek. Whimsy and pretty much everyone else on the Mainland knew that Geek was lazy, weak, and always tired. He could go down in one hit easily. But, what he lacked in defense and health, he more than made up for in damage. He could stop a Legendary without a second thought. But if there was someone out there who could stand up to Geek...
Whimsy shook her head, "I don't believe it."
"Whimsy, look at me," Geek whispered as he grabbed her and made her look at him.
His body was trembling, he could barely keep his hands steady, and his eyes seemed wavy, spaced out, and filled with mortal terror. Whimsy of all people knew that to scare Geek like this would take a tremendous amount of creepiness. That was enough to convince her. She shook her head, trying to think about the situation.
