Slash held the Wraith Orb in her hands, studying its simple design. How such a small, simple device held such power Slash was curious about. She smirked as she placed the orb on a small desk she had set up in the corner. Root had brought over most of their items to the Tower since Glare's screw up. Everyone had moved over here for, safety, reasons. Slash was the only one who knew the real reason. Root wanted the whole team to be on the Mainland so they could be very close eyed on Geek's every whereabout. That begged the question for Slash. The answer was already there, but Slash liked to repeat it in her mind.

Ever since Wraith's first appearance, ever since Slash was a Zorua, she had been fascinated with legends. The Legendary Pokemon, Wraith, his Orbs, his abilities, and most importantly, the ruins of the world and what they spoke of. One particular ruin Slash had found as a young kid was the ruin of the Abnormals. It was a deep ruin filled with so much interesting information. That was when Slash got introduced to Abnormals. Soon after that, the second event of Wraith occured, and after that Slash become fascinated with a different story. The legend, the myth, the idea, of humans. It was something that kept Slash awake every night.

Soon after that, during the Legendary War, was when Root met Slash. Root took a liking to Slash's, curiosity to the tale of humans. After the Mainland was destroyed and the Explorers were all but disbanded, their 'partner' came to them. He was looking for Geek. Root asked if there were any other, less difficult targets, to capture, but the Pokemon wanted Geek specifically. Agreeing to the mission, Root got Auroras out of the deal. The Pokemon partner had apparently gone to great lengths to lure the Riolu from his friends and turn him rather, overboard, in the brain. Root took an interest in the Riolu and made him an Abnormal.

That was when Root discovered the hidden potential of Riolu Abnormals. Due to their aura abilities, Riolus and Lucarios could become super mutated Abnormal with more than just any regular powerful abilities and skills. That was how Auroras was impervious to Geek and almost untouchable by other Pokemon. That was when Root decided to, change, the agreement. Slash advised against it, but Root was so caught up in his fantasy of ruling a world of Abnormals that he ignored the advice. The original agreement was that, in exchange for Geek, the partner would tell them where a mythical item was, the Evo Orb.

The Evo Orb, from Slash's knowledge, was a powerful item made by the Legendary Pokemon that could instantly evolve a Pokemon or make it surpass its final form. Slash had been tasked with finding the Evo Orb. Root devised the idea that, since the Legendary Pokemon made it, one of the Legendary Pokemon was bound to know where it was. Since they were breaking the deal, they would need to capture the Legendary Pokemon to find it. That was her main goal, along with Auroras.

Auroras approached Slash, moving through Dialga and Rayquaza. He glanced at them both and looked back to Slash. Slash looked at him, scoffed, then returned her attention to the Wraith Orb.

"He's not on the Mainland," Auroras grumbled in a more regular voice.

"Wait, first, what's with the voice?"

"I'm not trying to scare anybody am I?" Auroras replied, agitation in his voice.

"Are you losing control again?" Slash glared behind her.

"No. The little bugger hasn't been trying actually," Auroras replied.

Auroras was referring to Auroras' original conscious. Being an Abnormal had two options to itself. You could either willingly become one, as Slash and the others had, or resist it and be forced into it by the Wraith Orb. Except, instead of simply control a Pokemon or put them to sleep since Wraith no longer existed, the Orb would simply suppress the original conscious of the Pokemon and replace it with a more, compliant one. The time that the newer conscious would stay revolved around if the original Pokemon struggled. If the original struggled, the new conscious would last shorter. But, if it didn't resist, and it gave in, the newer Pokemon would stay longer. It was a complicated process, one Slash herself wasn't fully accustomed to.

"So, can I borrow that Lapras?" Auroras blatantly asked.

"As long as you bring it back in one piece. And, you better not lose it or we're in bigger trouble than we already are," Slash allowed

"Thanks," Auroras replied as he turned and walked back out of the Legendary Pokemon.

Once he was out, Auroras casually walked over to the Lapras at the doorway and greeted it. After that, Auroras curled into a ball and yawned. Slash turned and looked at the little Riolu as he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep. She frowned sorrowfully, once again surrounded by loneliness. It was something that, even now, Slash had struggled with since childhood. Ever since she'd been controlled by Wraith so long ago. No one wanted to be with her because of her, 'evil past.' But, even now, surrounded by those like her, she felt out of place. She felt alone. She felt abandoned. She felt the same feeling she felt when her parents left her in the forest. All on her own. To fend for herself, just before they died by the hands of the Legendary Pokemon. Slash buried the thoughts again, just like she did every time. It was best not to think about the past. Especially not the past she had.

Slash turned and moved over to a broken pillar next to her. She grabbed some rocks, stuffed them all together in a layer, and laid atop them. With as uncomfortable as it looked, Slash never felt more at home here. One thing about Slash's past led to good things now. She had to learn to live with whatever she had. No matter what it was, no matter where it was.
