"Flaaare," I whine, "My back hurts." I can hear her sigh loudly as if a simple breathing technique might keep her from killing me.
"And my paws hurt from carrying you, " she responds, "Plus we're almost there." I look up to see the beautiful bustling city. Below me I watch hundreds of people busy with the oncoming festival.
"Wow," I whisper, astonished at what my eyes are observing. It was amazing. I mean I know that Flare and I have been in cities before but none were as extravagant as this. No wonder it holds the title of the capital.
Flare clears her throat before she states, " We need to find the hotel that the other guild members are in." She is right, as usual. The sun is setting, such a wondrous sight, so it's late. I nod in agreement. Assuming she saw me, in response Flare floats down towards one of the stone-paved streets. Soon enough we reached the ground. My feet oh so gracefully collapsing on the path. That'll hurt in the morning.
"Sorry Y/N," Flare breathed sensing my pain.
"Oh please, you know better than anyone how clumsy I am" I tell her brushing myself off. "Wasn't your fault, Kit," I giggle at her. After a moment she giggles along with me.
"You're right," she starts, "You're a mess." I gasp at her playful insult, which only makes us laugh more. Soon enough our laughter subsided and she climbs onto my left shoulder. We began looking for members of our guild. Thankfully it didn't take us long to find one of them.
"Hey Mira!" I call out. She turns around with slight concern in her face, but soon smiles when she realizes who it is.
"Oh hey, Y/N. Hey Flare," Mira greets us. "I wondered where you ran off to, are you alright?" she questions. Uncomfortable with the interrogation, my hand reached behind my neck. A small awkward chuckle left my lips. Mira noticed my distress and dropped her questioning. "It's no matter. What can I do for you two ladies?" A wave of relief washes over me.
"We were looking for the hotel, but we are a little lost," I admit. An adorable, classic-Mira smile spreads across her flawless face.
"Oh," she squeaks, "It's two blocks right from here."
'Okay not far' I think, but little did I know she wasn't done.
"Then three blocks south, past the fruit stand," she continued, " Lastly go down the winding road with two left and a right." She smiled. "And it's on the left," she giggled. I could only stand there with my mouth open. I will never remember all of that, but before I could ask her to repeat it she was walking away from Flare and me. "Mm-Kay bye gotta run to the shop before it closes!" she shouted as she ran to catch up with her siblings and waved goodbye.
Crap.
I. Am. So. Screwed.
Then I hear a silky voice from behind me, "Did you get any of that?"
"Uh, maybe a little," I say and try to remember. "I think it started with two rights, so we could start there."
"Sounds good to me," Flare responds and I felt her shrug against my head. So I turn to my right, take a deep breath, and step down the small alley. As we walk, we pass many different kinds of shops and stands with all kinds of products. Stuff I've never seen in my life. Unfortunately, I think we took too many rights or not enough lefts or something like that. I don't know but it is dark and I skipped dinner so I'm starving. My stomach growls beneath me.
"Do you think any of these flowers are edible?" I joke. I feel Flare giggle on my shoulder.
"I don't think you'd get very far," she responds," they are the pride and joy of the city."
