"No," the pumpkin replied, "More like eighth place. You just barely qualified." The entire team agonizes in pain and shock.

"EIGHTH PLACE?!" we all shout.

~Time Skip~

"It's finally here folks, "the announcer affirmed, "the Annual Grand Magic Games!" I could hear the entire audience cheer. "This is guaranteed to be the best one yet," he continues. More cheers and whoops could be heard.

"Wow what a crowd," Erza states amused by the loud sounds coming from the arena.

"Yeah I didn't expect the to be so many people, " Lucy exclaims.  Gray explains that there are tons of wizards in the city who come to see the games, blah blah blah. Then Natsu starts to complain abour the uniforms or  something. But of course Lucy disagrees and so do Erza and Gray. Though I don't think Gray was actually wearing his but I'm not entirely listening.  I personally didn't care about the crowd. The uniforms weren't bad. I truly adored mine with it's deep purple, but it only reminded me of Flare.

I just keep thinking about her

I just keep thinking about her. I left her alone, again. She's going to hate me. She'll never talk to me again. Ugh! I punch the wall out of anger. The team shoots odd glances at me, but I ignore them. They know about my past and Flare's, so they're polite enough not to question.

"I hope Wendy will be okay," Lucy confessed trying to change the subject. It almost slipped my mind that Wendy and Carla were attacked last night.

"Whoever hurt them is going to pay," Natsu growled. We all rounded in agreement. No one would get away with harming our family! EVER! A angry quiet fell over the group, a dangerous stillness.

"Do you think, whoever hurt them, is participating in the games?" Natsu questioned to break the silence.

"I'd say there's a big possibility," Lucy was the first to respond. Another quiet fell upon us until Gray voiced the question on everyone's mind.

"Did they do it to weaken the team or-"

"Or for some other reason?" Erza finished. I decided to join in the conversation that I cared so little about before.

"Guys we have to focus on the games right now, " I command, " it's the best way to get revenge for Wendy." Though we all stood straight head, I could see them all nod in agreement.  Suddenly the announcer's voice can be heard once again.

"Now the time has come to meet our competitors, "he begins to introduce our guild. "It's Fairy Tail!" He shouts as we walk out into the arena. But we walked out into a disapproving crowd filled with 'boos' and other negative profanities. The team all felt the shame rising up in us.

"I wanna go home now, " Lucy whines. I simply roll my eyes and keep moving. I've heard worse. The team seems surprised by my untainted position, but followed me nonetheless with their heads down of course.

The announcer introduces the other guilds. Seventh place- Quatro Serberus. Sixth place-Mermaid Heel. Fifth place-Blue Pegasus. Fourth place-Lamia Scale. Third place-Raven Tail.

Wait what?! IN SECOND PLACE IS ANOTHER FAIRY TAIL TEAM?! Master has some explaining to do!  In fact just as the thought crossed my mind Lucy asked him, herself. Of course being the lunatic that he is he could only cackle at her curiosity.

Whatever, crazy old man.

The announcer speaks again, " And last but certainly not least, in first place it's the Sabertooth Guild!" The crowd looses it. I'm intrigued so I move around the other Fairy Tail members of both teams to try and see the group emerging, but am unable to get around them.

"Oh look they're walking out!" Natsu yells. "Y/n, you've got to see this." Before I know what's happening Natsu has picked me up and placed me up and sitting on his shoulders, his head between my thighs.

"What? Natsu?" I panic.

"Shush and look" Natsu demands and points a finger towards the same entrance we came out of. Low and behold it was those two arrogant dragon slayers parading out of the tunnel. That damn blond holding his arms up in triumph and a big grin plastered on his face.  I am boiling! Natsu feeling my anger taps my leg.

"Calm down," he groaned, " I'm sure you'll get a chance to beat down on him." He was right, for once. I shouldn't let my emotions get the best of me. No matter how much I wanted to smash his face in. Then the blond seemed to notice my glares and his face froze in intrigue. His eyes roam from mine down to Natsu's and then back to mine. A hint of frustration in them now.

"I thought you said you wouldn't be competing Sweetheart?" he examined. I growl at his use of that pet name. A smirk appears on his pale lips.

"Something came up with our other member," I begin, " and we needed someone to step in to compete in her place." I hop down from Natsu's shoulders and approach the blond slayer.  I am so close I can hear his heartbeat, which is accelerating at an alarming rate. "What nervous pretty boy?" I mock. He growls in response to my comment. "Only repaying the favor darlin'," I tease, throwing his word back in his face.

"It seems the competitors are already fighting on the field," the announcer jokes, " Save it for the games ladies and gentlemen!" At this Gray grabs my arm and give me a 'Come on' look. I grumpily agree. As I walk away I see the blond slayer soon try to compose himself and went on his way with the rest of his team. Wait, does he have a slight blush across his cheeks? Aw no way I did that. Or did I? I bite my lip at the thought, not realizing I was staring directly at the cocky bastard himself, who of course sees. It puts that dang smirk back on his face.

Damn him.

I can't hold back the oncoming blush from his stares. So I shuffle behind some of my teammates, hoping to be out of his line of sight now. I just stare at the ground wishing for it to go away.

"Oh no is that a blush I see on Y/n's face~?" a sweet chiming voice sings. When I look up, who else do I see but the tireless match-maker herself, Mirajane.

"Look Mira," I respond, "J-Just drop it okay?"

"Oh okay", she chimes, "So it had nothing to do with a certain white dragon slayer from Sabertooth?" I growl in her direction. I could have sworn I heard a small chuckle from the Sabertooth bunch before the announcer started. He was finally saying something important so I tune back in to his babbling.

"We've been waiting long enough folks," he broadcasted, "It's about time to unveil the official schedule for this year tournament!" As soon as the words leave his mouth the ground starts shaking.

"Oh no, not again," poor Natsu mumbles. But contrary to his fears only large stones appeared in the middle of the arena. They listed the days of the tournament and vaguely described the days' events.

"There's going to be a lot of action in the next few days," Gray comments. Yeah, understatement of the year. The announcer goes on another babble, but it mainly consists of explaining what we could see in front of us. To start the day off, there will be an event where the teams will place from first to eighth place. These places then correspond with point values given at the end of the round , which range from ten to zero points. After that there will be battles. The winner gets a whopping ten points while the loser gets nothing. In the case of a draw, both teams are awarded five points. But come on, how often does that really happen? The most important fact about them however is that we don't know who will fight. The audience decides. This means we need to be careful how much energy and magic power we use in the previous game.

"Now onto the first event of this year's games," the announcer chimes back in, "This one we call 'Hidden'."
