my eyes shut while my hands grab each other, and i pray. 

pray for johnny orlando to turn around and crash into my arms, and make this become a happily ever after.

my eyes open and he is far in the distance. he never heard me. 

mackenzie, do something! don't let him run away! 

i jump off the bleachers and sprint for my life to be complete with the one and only johnny orlando. 

i reach the school front and see lauren, brynn, maddie, and johnny talking, rolling their eyes, and ranting. i couldn't help but listen.

"i miss her. she is so broken, she is so afraid, and who do we have to thank for this? us." maddie spoke as she shut her beautiful bright blue eyes and opened them with a tear rolling down her cheek.

"don't you guys understand? this is not us! this is johnny orlando and maddie ziegler's promblem who dragged me and lauren into it! i was her best friend, she was OUR best friend, and we lost her thanks to you two! she is broken because the two people she loved the most! john i have been her best friend for a long time, the second she saw you she was in love, and maddie no matter what she always did what was best for you even if it meant running away for a month without food or water!" brynn ranted. 

the tears rolled down my cheek, she is bestest friend anyone could ever ask for. she stood up for me through everything.

i knew this was going to be a bad mistake. i shouldn't have listened. and i need to cut the act before everyone figures out the wrong way.

i have a plan which involves brynn and lauren. 

to: brynn

hey, need help meet me backstage in 5 with lauren. 

from: brynn

alright. we are on our way. see you soon. 

to: brynn

ok come quick

perfect step 1 getting lauren and brynn to meet me backstage.

[5 minutes later]

the two blondes came backstage. perfect. 

"hey guys."

"hey kenz what help do you need?" lauren spoke

"i have a favor that needs to be done by tomorrow's assembly." i started.

[the next day @ assembly]

i was backstage about to sing to the whole school, without my shades, hat, or my notepad. oh lord. deep breathes. i wrote a song 'real friends' {by camilla cabello} and a backstage crew member is suppose to give a piece of paper to the principal, which says 'mackenzie is singing as a suprise'.

the whole staff knows its me mackenzie ziegler after the first day because they did their research, and they saw the doctors note was confirmed not for me, so they let me stay undercover for 2 months max, and then detention for a week. 

the principal looks back and sees me as i nod my head. he then looks back to the confused audience. 

"we have a special guest." the principal spoke before leaving the stage and heading backstage. 

i decided to start off stage and then make my way to the stage while im singing my song. it would be less nerve racking. 

ok. you got this. here i go. 

"no, i think ill stay in tonight." i say my first line and all jaws dropped expect lauren, and brynn.

"skip the conversations and the oh's im fine. no stranger to suprise" i slowly walk up the steps and see the crowd staring at me. 

"this paper town has let me down too many times. why do i even try? give me a reason why." i walk over to the chair and mic stand set up. i sit down and put the mic in. i take my gitaur strapped around my waist and shoulder. i find the keys and continue.

"i thought i could trust you, nevermind."

[after singing] 

i look up to see all the students clapping and applauding. i smile and see johnny and maddie my smile turns to a frown and the crowd starts chanting 'another song'. i smile to myself and decide to sing a duet with johnny. 

this is perfect. 

i strum my gituar to make sure its tuned right. the gitaur starts playing, and i signal one of the backstage person to give a mic to johnny. they nod and i continue to strum the keys.

i start off johnny's part since he doesn't know the song i am singing

"chillin' with you spending some time girl there is nothing better"

johnny then rapidly lifts his head up and stares at me right in the eye. a tear left his eye while he left our stare to see a man standing their with a mic. he glanced at the mic and gently picked up. 

"whatever we do it will be fine, it don't matter the weather" he softly sang while he got up and slowly started to walk my way. 

"hit up the mall right after school, meet you outside at 3" johnny softly sang with a grin plastered on his face

"go see a movie, buy something cool, as long as your here with me" he slowly continued walking his way towards me. 

[after singing]

johnny was sitting right next to me while i strum the last key and turn to him. he looked at me with pity, and he truly looked sorry. one look from my face showed that i forgave him. he brightned his face and brang me close

he kissed my forehead and the crowd starting chanting 'kiss' i smiled and he brought me closer to our noses slightly touching and our foreheads resting on each other. 

he placed his left hand on my cheek and took his jacket to cover us from the school. 

he sotly kissed me while the other students groaned since they couldn't see us. 

my face lightned up knowing i had johnny with me, and he won't hurt me after he realized what he did and what had caused the action. 

but you can't change someone, and they can't change themeleseves even if they want to. it takes a lot more then changing to get to a stage you can't be in. 

trust me. i would know
