They reached the door and Dumbledore knocked. Megan saw a flash of movement by the window and the door. And a bark.
"... Who is it? Declare yourself!"
Molly's voice came through the door, and it was clear she was trying to sound more confident than she felt.
"It is I, Albus Dumbledore, escorting Megan Potter."
The door opened on a small red haired woman with a nervous but kind face.
"Oh, Merlin's beard, Albus, you gave me such a fright!" Molly said. "You said not till morning!"
"Luck proved to be on our side, it seems," Dumbledore said. "It was easier to convince Horace than planned, thanks to young Megan here. Oh, hello there, Nymphadora."
Megan looked round and saw a familiar heart shaped face and bubble gum pink hair.
"Hello, Professor," she said. "Wotcher, Megan."
"Hi, Tonks," Megan said as they hugged, though she noticed her smile didn't quite meet her eyes and her hair seemed a little duller than usual.
"Well, I'd best be off. Catch you later, Megan."
"Bye, Tonks."
She got out and vanished.
"I must leave too," Dumbledore said. "Urgent matters to discuss with Rufus Scrimgeour. I shall see you at Hogwarts, Megan. Take care of yourself. Molly, a pleasure as always."
Molly nodded and he stepped back before vanishing too.
"Come in, Megan, dear."
She led her to the kitchen where she took in her appearance. A soft woof came from the corner as Mira trotted over, tail wagging.
"Hey, Mira," Megan smiled, scratching her ears.
Mira then hopped up, her front paws on Megan's chest, and licked her face.
"Ha ha ha, stop, you're tickling me!" Megan giggled, gently letting her down.
Just then, someone came hurrying down the stairs.
"Is everything okay, Mrs Weasley, I hear-"
Megan looked around and gasped, before running into Cedric's open arms. He was tall, had light brown hair and bright eyes. He looked down at Megan and kissed her.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
"Well, my father reckoned it's be simpler to keep "the gang in one place"," he smiled.
"So, he's okay with... you and me?" she asked.
"Well, he hasn't said otherwise," he smiled. "And anyway, I can't think what he'd find against you."
"That I draw trouble, maybe?" Megan smiled.
"Wizards do that a lot." he grinned.
Mrs Weasley was sizing Megan from behind and heaved a sigh.
"You're as bad as Ron," she said. You've grown so much..."
"Sorry," she smiled. "But it's handy when your boyfriend's taller than you." she added, grinning at Cedric.
"Yes, I suppose it is," Molly chuckled fondly. "Hungry, dear?"
Megan's stomach rumbled.
"Yes, actually." she admitted, flushing.
"Have a seat, I'll whip something up."
Soon, Megan was seated before a steaming bowl of soup and bread.
