* Bob's POV *
"Well, running away is............risky and dangerous at the same time; I don't recommend it but if it gets the terminators off your tail then I guess you can consider yourself lucky. " Mr. Young said as the class whispered and murmured.
" Are there people living in other sectors beside ours ? " I asked Mr. Young.
" I honestly have no idea, I've never seen evidence of that. " He answered instructing the class to our work. Logan and Steve turned around.
" Oh my god Bob, what kinda question was that? " Steve asked with his beaver looking face.
" A question nobody's ever asked before Steve. Has anyone even thought about it? " I asked.
" Does anyone ever dream of seeing the other sectors?! Or do they just grow up and die in just one part of our ' world ' ? " I said.
" No one but you dreams about impossible outrageous things like that Bob. " Logan said joining our conversation.
" Do you guys think it's a bad thing? " I asked.
" Yes! If you run away you could get killed! And if you do come back you could get terminated! " Steve said widening his eyes.
" I don't think it's a bad thing, Bob wants to explore the outside world. And our sector doesn't even wanna spend money for researching the outside world. " Logan said.
" It's not a ' world ' " I said.
" Then what is it? " Steve asked.
" It's a planet we know nothing about. " I stated.
" I believe that. " Logan said pointing at me.
" Do you guys think anyone's ever gone outside our sector? " I asked.
" If they did they probably never came back alive, or never came back at all. " Logan said.
" Let me search it up! " Steve chimed searching it up on his phone.
" I can't find any solid proof if anyone came back or not, but a lot of people did run away between 1970 and 2000. The numbers dropped once the terminators started blasting. " Steve said looking at her phone and looking back at us.
" Does it say how many people ran away? " Logan asked.
" There's an estimated 100. " Steve told us.
" That's so much and so little at the same time. " I said as Logan and Steve chuckled.
Let me explain, the land we humans live on is about 3'000'000 km2
We called our land " Sector Zi-83. " Is there more land outside our sector? Probably yea there is, but not a lot of people have actually gone outside the borders to see it. And those who do go outside the borders, never come back. A population of just about 30'000 people, the government kept an eye on each one of us. It use to be a population of about 35'000 people, but the government thought all those people were 'useless'. 5'000 people were terminated in 3 years.
Me, Steve and Logan started on our work, but the entire time; all I could think about was the terminators. Who were they gonna zap this time? Where do the zapped people go?
After class ended, the bell rang for lunch. We headed out the door on our way to the cafeteria.
" Guys guys! " I said grabbing their attention.
" You know the terminators zap people right, where do you think the terminated people go? " I asked.
" I'll search it up! " Steve chimed whipping out her phone typing away.
" I can't find any information on it, but there are some theories that they might be teleported to a different part of the world and or that they die. " Steve said looking at his phone and looking back at us.
" Man, I with we could find some information about the outside sectors, there's like nothing about it in the library. " Logan said.
" Yes there is, how would we know if there are oceans, or other land? " I asked and Logan just shrugged.
" I bet there's some information in those old abandoned research institutions on the far side of our sector. " Steve said.
" Like, near the border? " I asked.
" Where else would they do research? They wanna be as far away as they can from the public. " Logan stated.
We entered the cafeteria and sat down at our usual table. Me and Logan busted out our lunches while Steve still was on his phone. Steve never brought lunch. And the one time he did, our entire grade knew about it asking if he was okay. It was hilarious.
" Oh my god guys, there are like really old abandoned science labs and research institutions near our sectors borders. " Steve whisper yelled to us as we leaned in more to listen.
" There're also rumors that there is like some kind of secret room under city hall with important documents and books about the world. " Steve read from his phone.
" But we don't know for sure. " Steve said.
" Why would we wanna know? " Logan asked.
" I don't know, Bob brought this all up! " Steve said pointing fingers.
" Fuck off Steve! " I casually said. I busted out my loony tunes playing cards. Something we use to do since last year, when Kevin was still around. Our game was mostly president. It was a lot of fun.
