Your POV:

"Home sweet home" Natsu mumbles weakly. We finally arrive back at the lowly guild hall. What a gut-wrenching sight it is. The place nothing more than a pile of rummage stacked in the shape of a guild hall. After the unexpected seven years we spent on Tenrou Island, our home had become the damaged and disheveled eyesore of Magnolia. Those dicks at Twilight Ogre were no help to that.

Nevertheless we made it back home. We all did; Lucy, Gray, Erza, Natsu and Happy, Carla and Wendy, and even Flare and me. However now we were all face down on the stone path leading up to the guild. My thighs burning on the scorching pavement. My tank top and jean shorts didn't do much for the heat

Natsu is up front, leading this brigade, with Happy by his side, of course. Then Wendy and Carla next to Gray and Lucy. I, of course, am more in the back with my little one, Flare. Her lavender fur brushed up against my arm. Though Flare acted as tough as the other Exceeds she was really a softy. I feared for her during our training, but she was a stubborn one. She never knows when to quit and she would never dream of losing to some big-mouthed lunatics like Natsu an Happy.

The Grand Magic Games were right around the corner and we were no where near ready. Well I mean Erza is always amazing and Natsu doesn't take much. Lucy's spirits are strong and Gray rarely ever looses his cool. Okay. So correction. I wasn't ready. My powers would never compare to Natsu's or Erza's. I mean even though-

"Are you guys just going to lay around all day?" a rough disembodied voice grumbles towards us, "Get up!" I reach a protective arm out towards Flare. Though when we look up to see Macao standing over us, I see there was no need. Elfman shouted something about being a 'real man'. I was too exhausted to understand or care to try. I stood along with the others, with a little help from Flare of course. We go and stand in the group.

Eventually everyone began sharing their training stories. The Strauss siblings studied in the mountains and Elfman really did pack on some muscle. Bisca and Alzack got their shootin' down to a point. Even Max trained so much so he believed he could take down Natsu. As expected, Nastu took it as a challenge, but before a fight could break out Gramps appeared.

"Good work everyone." his gruff voice echoed through the now silent members, "I see you've all trained very hard for the Grand Magic Games." He then invited us inside. We all knew what was to come. None of us questioned or talked back, not even Natsu.

Once inside the old tattered guild hall, Gramps stood ontop of the steps, trying to make himself a little taller for his big announcement.

"Listen up kids." he commanded. His voice showed the proud parent he truly was. Though his words became more intense when he uttered, "It's time to choose the five who will represent Fairy Tail in the Grand Magic Games." I could feel the tension thicken in the room. Everyone was holding their breath not to miss a word. He cleared his throat and then began.

"Nastu."

Obviously.

"Gray"

Duh.

"Erza"

No kidding.

They were kinda shoe-in's. I think everyone saw that coming, but once again we all remained still. There were two more spots open. Only two more members could compete in the games.

"The remaining two will be..." Gramps bellowed, creating suspense throughout the guild. "Lucy and Wendy" My heart stopped. I knew there wasn't really a chance but I got my stupid hopes up. I will never be as strong as those guys. Plus I was new to the guild. Who was I kidding anyway?

"Hey you okay, Y/N?" a sweet voice mentioned towards me. I looked up to see none other than Mirajane, herself. Always the charmer, she was.

"Oh yeah I-I'm fine," I respond trying to sound authentic in my false-positive attitude I was projecting. "I think I need to talk a walk," I admit, "Just need some fresh air, ya'know?" I walk out the front door of the guild before she could respond. Tears burning in my eyes, but I give them no satisfaction. I didn't really notice where I was walking. All I know is that I am racing at an unbelievable pace. My feet are moving almost as fast as my thoughts. I lose track of time. It's late and I know I should be head back. All of a sudden I smack into something...or is it someone? I couldn't really tell, but I apologize nonetheless and go on my way. My head staring at the concrete below my feet the whole time. All I could see was a flash of blond hair as I pass by. So that confirmed my suspicion. I definitely ran into a person.

Ugh,stupid. Wait is that fur on my sleeve? Oh whatever. I need to go back.

I eventually find my way back home after hours outside, only to find an empty guild hall.

"Shit," I mumble under my breath. "They must have already left." I think out loud, not that there is anyone to hear me. "I could catch the next the next train," I process, "But I hate them they always make me feel-"

"HEY!" an angry, stone-cold voice interrupts me. I knew that tone. I am in some deep trouble. I turn to see a pair of black wings holding a small lavender body in a navy blue top and a black skirt. "HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME BEHIND!!" she screamed as loud as her little lungs could take. Her sheer black wings bolting towards me only to stop with her inches from my face.

"Flare, listen I kno-" I try.

"OH YOU KNOW DO YOU?!" her voice cracking at the end. At this she took a breath and skillfully glided down onto a table, attempting to calm herself. I wanted to apologize, but I knew it wouldn't get me anywhere.

She and I had quite the life before Fairy Tail. We had friends and even some we could call family, but in the end we were always left behind. So we made a pact that we would always have each other. I know it's cheesy, but she's my entire world and my was my only family before Fairy Tail. "You promised," she whispered, "you promised you wouldn't leave for that long without me." My heart broke as she sat on the round table and quietly sniffled into her words.

I reached my arms out towards her small body to pick her up. I checked her face but saw no resistance so I proceeded. My hands wrapped around her little lavender body, her wings disappearing, and scooped her up and into my chest. She nuzzled her small head into the curve of my neck.

"I'm so sorry Kit," I whispered, breathy and defeated.

"You don't get to use that pet name when I'm mad at you," she laughed, "It's not fair." Her head perked up to face me and smiled. For that smile I would move mountains at my own expense. She deserves so much more than I could ever give her and yet she sticks with me for some reason.

Suddenly her eyes fill with terror. "How are we going to get to Crocus?!" she panicked.

I gulped, attempting to prevent the inevitable. "I-I wa-as thi-inki-ing" I slowly say, dragging out my words.

"Spit it out!" Flare demands.

"Fine, " I huff. Reluctantly I comply, "I was thinking we could catch a train." Flare's laugh rings through my ears.

"You want to go on a train?!" She laughs even harder. "Do you not remember the last time? Or do you just want to relive it?" she reminds me in her sarcastic tone.

"What?" I question, "Do you have a better idea?" I tease.

"Yeah," she explains, "Me."
