Flaming Dreams [Pokemon]

Chapter 12: "Splashing Around"

"Jellicent, Go!"

"Let's go, Delphox! Start off with a Shadow Ball!"

Delphox appeared and immediately shout out three purple balls of energy. 

"Jellicent, Enegry Ball!"

Jellicent countered with its own energy balls. The two attacks met in the middle of the battlefield and crashed, making a cloud of smoke to appear.

"Use the cover! Psyshock!"

Now Delphox summoned bluish-purple blobs and sent them through the smoke.

"Blow this cloud away with Ominous Wind!"

"Oh now you don't! Delphox, use your psychic powers!"

I could hear Jellicent unleashing powerful blows of wind, but they all bounced back and the smoke stayed in place. It was glowing, slightly, and so did Delphox's eyes. She hold her hands up in front of her and concentrated all her power. Then, there was another crash. The Psyshock had finally reached Jellicent, also hitting it.

"Now, Delphox! Show some fire!"

She nodded, enveloped herself in fire and used Flame Charge. The smoke finally started to clear and Marlon saw what was happening. I gave him a smirk but he didn't seem intimidated. 

"Dodge!"

And Jellicent, who was lying down just a second ago, rose up. Delphox had missed pretty badly.

"Shadow Ball!"

"You, too, Delphox!"

The Floating Pokémon sent out its attack, but Delphox quickly turned around and protected herself with the same.

"Brine!"

"Flamethrower!"

Jellicent switched to a stream of water and Delphox to a streak of flames. But Jellicents Brine was clearly stronger an it started moving closer to my Pokémon.

"Delphox, spin!"

She gave her Flamethrower one last push and created, I guess now our signature 'move', Flaming Shield. Jellicent tried to break through, but no luck. The fire was too thick.

"Ominous Wind!"

"Flamethrower straight ahead!"

Jellicent created another blow of wind and this time, it pushed Delphox a little bit. She stopped and shout out a powerful streak of flames, but before the fire could reach Jellicent, it was blown back towards Delphox. The Fox Pokémon got hit by her own move. She was blown back and crashed into the ground.

"Finish it with Brine!"

One last jet of water was launched at Delphox and she was done, fainted.

"Oh well, Delphox, return. You did good!" I called in disappointment.

"Return, Jellicent!" Marlon said, then turning to me. "You fought well, and I say, I'm impressed. Your Fire-type resisted many of my moves."

"I've trained." I replied with a big smile.

"Haha awesome! Now, if you'd like, you could start training right away." Marlon offered.

I nodded and he guided me to a room in the back. I gave Tyler a 'Good Luck' look and he winked. The room that Marlon took me to was also quite big. There was another pool in the middle and some targets opposite the door.

"For your training, you'll do some target shooting. Ok?"

"Ok."

"Good, I'll leave you here then!"
