"Chelle, look out, behind you!"

I turned around to see a Pyroar, covered in electricity, charging right at me. I closed my eyes, covered my face and waited her to hit me. But all I heard was a loud crash.

I carefully opened my eyes and saw Numel, unconscious, lying right next to me. A few steps away was Pyroar, also on the ground. I quickly took Numel and took him in my lap.

"No, no, no, no! Numel! Numel, please say something!" I cried, trying as hard as I could not to burst into tears. The poor thing had risked his life to save me. I peeked at Pyroar. She was getting up, laboriously, but getting up.

"Nu…mel" The Numb Pokémon panted.

"Numel! You're awake!" And I stroke him gently. The little guy smiled back to me.

"You're crazy!" Was the only thing I could say. Still, I got up fast, when I heard a quiet snarl right next to me. The Royal Pokémon was awake, too. I held Numel tight and Tyler jumped in front of me.

But to our surprise, the Pyroar was returned. Turning our heads we saw a black figure inside the helicopter.

"That's enough!" The shadowy silhouette said. "Take off!"

The propeller started spinning, creating another blow of wind.

"You're not getting away with this!" I screamed.

Holding Numel, I ran towards the copter, that was taking off, but Tyler stopped me.

"What are you doing?! They're getting away!" I yelled at his face.

"Chelle, there's not much we can do at the moment." He said calm. "And I think we should get Numel back to the Pokémon centre."

I looked down to the small volcano in my arms and nodded. We ran out of the street and made a right, where the Pokémon Centre was. I ran through the doors and up to the counter.

"Nurse Joy! I need you to treat my Numel!" I shouted.

"Yes, of course!" She replied with a huge smile. "Oh my! This little fella has really got beaten up. I'll get right on it!"

Nurse Joy took Numel from me and rushed to the back room. Me and Tyler sat on the couch, waiting for my Pokémon. I was really tired from all that battling, even if it was only twelve o'clock. I closed my eyes and rested my head on Tylers shoulder.

"Excuse me! Your Numel is feeling much better!" I heard a voice.

"Thanks! I'll take him for now." This time it was Tyler.

I opened my eyes and got up sitting. Ty was walking back to the sofa and put Numel back into my lap.

"He's better now. But you shouldn't use him in battle today. Got it?"

"Yeah, Ok." I muttered and I returned the Numb Pokémon. "Are we going to the gym now?"

"Sure, why not!"

Tyler stood up and also helped me. We exited the building and turned left. The gym was a short walk away, but I didn't mind it.

The gym fit in the environment perfectly. It was painted sea blue and located at the sunniest spot on the island, or at least that's what I think. Inside was a big battlefield, surrounded by a pool of water. The rest was usual - high ceiling, lamps hanging down and yellow benches at both sides of the field.

"Hello! Anybody here!" I called out.

"Yes?" Asked a someone and a guy, about the same age as we were stepped forward from behind the benches. "Are you two, perhaps, from the Sinnoh Academy?"
