Chapter 22 Siofra Tells All

"Get rid of the head!" Siofra whispered to Leman who ran off carrying the head, and then taking on human form she stood with Rosemary and Aednat hugging them. "You're OK, we're here." Aednat looked about and saw an owl perched nearby.

"Are owls really good Omens?" Aednat whispered still shaking. Siofra turned to see the owl.

"That one is Aediy. Show yourself Loki." The owl flew down from his perch and assumed his human form. Then he smiled warmly.

"There is a strange vehicle with a man approaching over the snow," he said.

"Davey!" Aednat whispered.

"Let's move away from all this," Siofra said, "David don't need to see this. I'll explain everything later. Where can we all talk."

"There's a pizza place in town by the beer and wine store," Rosemary said, "We'll get Davey to take us, can you find it?"

"Three hours then," Siofra said, "I'll come as I am." Aednat and Rosemary moved away from the bloody snow and waved to David skiing to reach him.

"I got hot coco and Hershey bars," he called out to them. He turned the snow mobile engine off and hugged both of them, "I see you're shivering."

"Can we go out for pizza after we return the ski," Rosemary asked. David nodded.

"I broke my pole," Aednat said softly.

"That happens, let me get you both warmed up. Then I'll tow you back to the rental office. I did buy the insurance against loss or breakage. Darn, I forgot the deer jerky!"

"That's OK Davey, we just happy to see you," Aednat hugged him giving him a lingering kiss to his lips and Rosemary one to his cheek.

They walked into the pizza parlor and requested the private area. "Just three of you?" the server asked.

"We will be joined by others," Rosemary replied.

"Who else is coming?" David asked.

"Ulfy, her friend and Loki," Aednat replied.

"I don't think wolves ..."

"They will come in human form, and besides Loki is an owl."

"There they are now Nit. They have two others with them," Rosemary said. Aednat looked toward the door and watched as Leman held the door open while Siofra, Loki, then a red haired girl she estimated to be about twelve years old and a tall young man with brown hair walked in. She stared at the new couple for several seconds then shrieked and ran to them.

"ERIC, MAGGIE!" She had tears in her eyes as she hugged Eric first then Greta. Totally unaware of the commotion her shouting and running to the door had caused. She hugged Eric a second time.

"We found these two walking around," Siofra said. Aednat grabbed Greta's hand and literally dragged her and her companions into the privacy room. David discretely closed the curtains, and stood next to Aednat with a protective arm around her shoulder.

"Davey this is my brother Eric and my little sister Margareta, Maggie. You already know Ulfy."

"I prefer to be called Greta now!" Greta said sheepishly.

"I'm actually called Siofra, Sophie, the handsome man next to me is Loki, and you know him as an owl and Leman my new husband.

"Davey is my husband and this gorgeous redhead my sister-in-law Rosie." Rosemary and Eric exchanged nods but Eric continued to watch her discreetly as they were seated. Rosemary for her part was oddly wordless and her face flushed as she watched Eric inconspicuously through eyes partially hooded by her long eyelashes. "Congratulations on your marriage."
