"Nit, what are you going to wear to the dance?"

"I was thinking my bikini," Aednat teased.

"You're such a goon, let's wear our matching poodle skirts."

"I think I got this pendant figured out."

"Well let's try it."

"Hold my hand, OK 'time be still'." Aednat declared holding the pendant.

"Nothing happened, try it in Danish."

"Tid vaere stadig. Nothing again."

"What about Latin, something like 'time stands still'," Rosemary said.

"Usque nunc stat! Nothing again!"

"You're wrong, see that fly?"

"It's just stuck in the air and its wings aren't moving," Aednat said in awe. "Your pendant is glowing too."

"The fly's wings are moving, very slowly. Let's go down stairs!" Rosemary said.

"In my underwear?"

"I don't think we will be seen."

They walked down stairs and found their family frozen in time. William was bent over with his hand inches from the channel dial on the TV. Ruth sitting in her seat apparently reading 'Dear Abby' in the paper. In the kitchen David was pouring a glass of lemonade.

"Are they frozen?" Aednat said.

"I don't think so, just moving very slowly. Like the fly. Listen Dad's saying something. "I just got an idea!" Rosemary turned David's glass upside down then walked to her mother and took the paper out of her hands and replaced it with a fly swatter. The pendants began to vibrate slightly as the families movement accelerated. They watched as David's lemonade hit the upside down glass. Then realizing their state of undress they dashed to the stairway giggling and thundering up to their room.

"Did you hear bees?" William said, "I see you got the fly swatter."

"Girls, no running on the steps, how many..." Ruth looked at the flyswatter puzzled.

"OOPS!" David said as the lemonade spilled all over the table.

"We did it! We worked magic!" Aednat said. "Now you try."

They sat at the table for dinner. Aednat and Rosemary were far too excited to eat. "I'm glad you're coming as our chaperone Davey," Rosemary said.

"I love my man in uniform!" Aednat purred.

"The uniform was Mom's idea."

"You look handsome big brother."

"Thank you Rosie."

"I wish Ulfy could come," Aednat said.

"You need to bring your school ID's or you will not be admitted." David said.

"Nancy said Robin Seymour will be the DJ! OH, Davey could you pick up my friends, they don't have a ride."

"Now you see why I bought a station wagon," William said.

"Yes Rosie, not a problem."

"I LOVE YOU DAVEY!"

"Do you need to call them and let them know?" David asked.

"OH, I already did!" Rosemary said as she smiled sweetly.

"I think I need to see an ear doctor," William said, "It's either that or we had bees in the house."
