Chapter 6 - Work Relations

Denise POV

I am an early bird at work.

Kaya naman hindi uso ang late sa department na handle ko.

"Miss Denise? Mr. Sandoval is here to see you."

I sigh.

"Let him in, Joy. Thank you." Ako

Joy is my secretary.

And all of our staffs here call me 'Miss Denise' instead of 'Ma'am'.
I just hate too much formality.

Inabala ko na ulit ang sarili ko sa binabasa kong proposal habang hinihintay na pumasok ang aking bisita.

As the door of my private office open, Luke enter with a big smile on his face.

Yep. You've read it right.
It is Luke.

Hindi ko ba nasabi sa inyo na magkatrabaho kami?

Hindi?

Oh well, now you know.

As I said before.
Luke is an Executive Officer.
He is one of the youngest executives in this company.
And he is my Superior, if you all wanna know.

"Good morning." Ako

"Maganda ka pa sa umaga Denise." Luke

Inirapan ko lang ito.

"Do you need anything?" Ako

"Nothing. I'm just checking you." Luke

"Oh. I'm fine here Sir." Ako

Natigilan pero agad din naman akong nginisihan ni Luke.

"You really are something Denise." Luke

"What?" Ako

My forehead crumpled but he doesn't mind.
Luke laugh while slightly shaking his head.

"Lunch out?" Luke

Oh.

"Your treat?" Ako

"No." Luke

"Then it's a no." Ako

Again, he laugh. "It's Jacob. He'll drop by here."

"Wow. Seryoso? Manlilibre ang kuripot na 'yon?" Ako

"He loose on our bet. That's why." Luke

Kaya naman pala.

Jacob is not the kind who will just treat us for nothing.
Napaka-kuripot ng kunehong iyon.

"What kind of bet?" Ako

"Kung kakausapin siya ni Helen." Luke

"And?"

"Well, that monkey confidently said yes. Then, when he called Helen, after five attempts, nothing happened." Luke

"Poor Jacob." Ako

"We'll make him poor today." Luke said then laugh

"Baliw." Ako

"Troy is also coming. He'll head right at the resto after his meeting." Luke

I just nod at the information.

Luke sat at the chair infront of my desk.

"You seems busy." Luke

Nakatingin ito sa inaayos kong narrative report ng business trip na pinuntahan ko last week.

"Binigyan ninyo ako ng maraming trabaho eh." Ako
