Me: Hey Macsters! What's up?
Mac (looking up at me): Well, you're in a good mood, now aren't you? What you got goin' on today?
Me: Tay and I are going to hang out all day. I'm going to make it the perfect day.
Mac: Where you going?
Me: I'm not telling you. I don't want you coming and messing it up.
Mac (walking out of the room): Fine. Have fun, buddy.
It was the day after the last day of school. I was going to take Taylor to the aquarium but on a private tour, to a super expensive restaurant, and then we were going to just hang out at Newport on the Levee to top the night off. While I was thinking of the great day ahead of me, my phone buzzed.
Taylor: Trey... I have some news...
Me: That text isn't very promising. What's up?
Taylor: I can't go on this date with you today.
Me: Why not?
Taylor: Because Devon is here all day.
Me: What do you mean?
Taylor: Devon has to stay at my place the whole day and my parents won't let me leave him here alone.
Me: Why do you have to babysit him?
Taylor: My parents orders.
Me: Fuck that! You text me all day. I don't want the shithole gettin' any bright ideas!
Taylor: Trey! He's reading these texts you know that. He's sitting right next to me.
Me: Well tell him to fuck off! Don't you even think about touching her bitch! I'll fuck you up if you even lay a finger on her!
Taylor: Trey! What is your problem?!
Me: I am not comfortable with you staying at home alone with another guy all day.
Taylor: I'll be fine, Trey.
Me: Can I come over?
Taylor: No. No one can.
Me: This sucks ass.
Taylor: Yeah it does. I gtg. Love you, babe.
Me: Wait, what?! No! You gotta keep texting me!
Taylor: I'm gonna watch a movie with Devon. He's never seen it before.
Me: What movie?
Taylor: The Vow.
Me: Fuck no! Hell no! That ain't happenin'!
Taylor: It's fine, Trey. I gotta go. Bye, baby.
Me: Taylor!
No response.
Me: Taylor!
No response.
Okay, Trey relax. Its all good. Your girlfriend is just watching one of the most romantic movies of this century with a guy that really likes her. You can trust her... But you can't trust him, god dammit.
I got up and started to walk to the garage.
Mac (walking out of the game room): Where ya goin', cuz?
Me: I'm going over to Taylor's. She is staying at home all day with Devon because of her parents and I just don't trust that guy.
Mac: No. Don't go. I will. I'm supposed to spend the night at her house tonight anyway. I'll just tell her you told me that your date was canceled and I wanted to come over and hang out for the day.
Me: Could you? Oh my gosh! That would be awesome! You need to tell me if he tries to make a move, okay?
Mac (walking to the service button to get one of the butlers to take her, she didn't have her license just quite yet): I gotchu! Don't worry, Trey, he won't do anything.
Mac left with Robert and then I was alone. The boys were over at the Stevens' house, Lexi was in Hawaii, and Mac just went to Taylor's. I didn't know what I wanted to do. Finally I decided to see if I could fix my friendship with Jordan. I watched as my fingers traveled across my phone and soon I could hear the phone ringing.
Jordan: Hello?
Me: Hey. I'm glad you answered.
Jordan: What do you want?
Me: I just want to talk. We haven't done that in a while.
Jordan: Why don't you "just talk" with your girlfriend.
Me: Because I want to talk to you.
Jordan: What? Did you guys break up?
Me: No... Why? What have you heard?
Jordan: Nothing. What's up? You seem anxious.
Me: It's about Taylor.
Jordan: What's wrong?
Me: She is at her house all alone with another guy.
Jordan: Well, that's promising for you.
Me: Tell me about it.
Jordan: I'm sure you're a nervous wreck. Why don't you text her?
Me: She won't answer me. They're watching The Vow.
Jordan (laughing): Ha! Yeah right! If a girl and guy watch The Vow alone together, there is no watching happening. I'm sure he has his tongue down her throat and his dick in her.
Me: Thanks, J, you just made me feel worse. Hey hold on for a sec, I just got a text.
I put her on speaker and went to my messages. It was from Mac.
Mac: I just walked into Taylor's house. She didn't know I did. She still doesn't know I'm here. The Vow was on the TV in the living room. Taylor and Devon are not in the living room.
Me: Where are they?
Mac: Taylor's bedroom. I went up there to see what they were doing. I couldn't see anything, but I heard moaning. I'm so sorry cuz...
I dropped my phone.
Jordan: Trey?
I didn't answer.
Jordan: Trey! What's wrong? What just happened?
Me: Can you come over? I need someone.
Jordan: I'll be right over.
