Lance rushed hurriedly around his room to get ready for his date.
Rae, Annie, and Zea were in a meeting with the peaceful planet's officials and Keith and Lance were going out on there first date.
The planet was called Arian and the Ardonians were peaceful creatures whose planet held the most beautiful flowers.
Lance heard a knock at his door and opened it to see Keith in a nice outfit, casual yet fancy.
"Are you ready?" Keith reached towards him and Lance took his hand.
"Yes."
The two walked off the ship together talking about silly things, like why there was only one sun on Arian, of what the earth creature dog would be like.
They had been walking around the planet hand in hand for a while before Keith stopped.
"Are you ready?" Lance smiled and nodded.
Keith moved some leaves around from the ground and Lance saw the opening to a passageway.
"After you."
Lance goes through the passageway with Keith following behind him. "Where does this lead?"
"A place where I spent a lot of my childhood when my mother needed to keep me safe."
Lance desperately wanted to ask about his mother but thought better of it, it was after all their first date.
"The end's coming up here." Lance arrived at a door and pushed it to reveal a beautiful garden.
Left side
Right side
Keith walked forward and took Lance's hand in his own. "No one comes here, it's like our own little spot. If you want it to be."
"Keith, it's beautiful!" Lance hugged him and Keith laughed, picking Lance off the ground.
The two spent the day running around the garden and splashing in the lake. When they got tired they laid down side by side looking at the sky.
"I have had more fun with you today than I ever did at the castle." Lance intertwined their hands and Keith gave his hand a light squeeze.
"It's the same for me. My whole life has been focused around my training and surviving that I never really enjoyed just being alive."
Lance turned to face Keith as he did the same. They looked at each other before leaning in and they kissed.
It was a slow kiss, filled with passion. Lance melted into it and wrapped his arms around Keith as the Galran wrapped his arms around Lance.
When they split Lance looked at Keith and realized something.
He'd never felt like this before.
Keith sat up and picked a flower off one of the bushes. He looked at Lance with a small smile and held out the flower to him.
"This is a special flower, when the last petal falls something happens."
"What, what happens?"
"That, is for another day."
Keith stood and helped Lance up. "We have to go back to the ship."
Lance kissed Keith's check and looked up at him. "Can't we stay a little longer, just to talk?"
"Is something bothering you?"
"Yes actually, something Annie said." Lance sat back on the grass and patted the spot next to him.
After Keith sat down Lance said, "Annie and I were talking yesterday and she said something that got me thinking. She said that the princess I am engaged to was in love with someone else, and that they were planning to get married before I arrived."
"How did she know that?"
"She didn't say, she only said that the two of you were very close and that you might know what would happen to me if she did get married."
"Well, I think you deserve to know the whole story. It started over ten years ago when I was a cub. Lona and I met in the tunnels under the palace, and became friends very soon. After a few years of meeting there she told me that she was in love.
"When she told me who she was in love with I was worried. Worried of what her father would do if he found out. You see, Lona wasn't in love with simply a peasant, but an Altean."
Lance gasped and looked at Keith.
"His name is Gerlamia, and he is around your height. He's paler than you and his markings are different. His hair is a dark brown.
"He has been hiding with Lona for years and Zarkon hasn't even suspected. If they do get married you will be wed to the next in line. Lotor."
"No! I won't get married to him! Not for anything!"
"I don't want you to marry him, I'd die before I let that happen, especially to you!"
Lance hugged Keith and pulled him down so that he was hovering over him. Then he kissed him.
It was more intense than their kiss before, and Keith licked his bottom lip asking for entrance. Lance complied and the kiss steadily grew more heated.
Eventually, the kiss ended and the two looked at eachother.
"We should get back to the ship," Keith whispered.
"Yeah."
