Sabo x Reader

A/N~ Alright I finally got the Sabo one done! Apologies for being late but this turned out a little longer than expected and I have to warn everyone now that the next one will most likely also be late due to the 20 page research paper I'm currently working on for school. This one was also requested by the lovely siwonloveani92 and I hope y'all enjoy!~

The sterile smell of a hospital greeted your nostrils upon awakening and opening your eyes proved somewhat difficult due to the bright sunlight coming from a window close by. When you tried to move your limbs you quickly found that your legs were constrained to a couple of casts. How in the world did that happen? Then you remembered about the chalk drawing. Well shit! Where the hell am I then?

Before another thought could cross your mind the door to your right opened to reveal a tall man in formal dress and a top hat. At first you couldn't make out much of his face as he tilted the hat down in front, a gesture you recognized as a physical expression of thoughtfulness. His blonde hair shined as it peaked out and reflected the sunlight and from what you could see in the shade of his hat just at the tip of his nose which was just above a pair of pursed lips, a portion of a scar which seemed to extend upward towards his left eye peaked through.

But as you observed the strangely familiar form of the man in front of you, you somehow missed that he hadn't stopped moving. It didn't take too long for that to change, as he suddenly tripped and fell face first into your chest. For a moment all you could do was sit there paralyzed, red-faced and mouth agape, as the man's ears, which were the only part of his head that you see besides his hair, also turned a vibrant crimson hue. Then he quickly got himself off of you and sat in the nearest chair while facing away from you, all the while screaming "I'M SO SORRY!!!!"

After a very awkward moment of silence the door opened and your friend (f/n) peeked his head in. "Yo (y/n) are you awake?" Another moment of silence and he looked back and forth between you and the blonde. "Sooooo what'd I miss?" he said with a grin plastered to his face.

~a few weeks later~

You finally were out of those itchy and annoying casts. Throughout the time you were stuck in that bed though you received a number of visitors including (f/n), Koala, Dragon, and your favorite was Sabo. Granted with the first impression he made you were surprised Sabo even had the courage to face you again, much less visit you every day that he wasn't on a mission. But over that course of time the two of you had become good friends and (f/n) had naturally come to tease you about your growing crush on the blonde.

However today while (f/n) was teasing you as you walked down the halls toward Dragon's office, where you hoped to run into Sabo since he was supposed to be back today, you caught sight of something on a desk. It was the latest newspaper and you quickly scooped it up in your hands with a look of terror on your face. "(y/n)? What's up?" (f/n) drew out the last word, but his face matched yours at the sight of the front page of the newspaper. The two of you only took a moment to look at each other before bolting up to Dragon's office.

When you reached the office door the both of you simultaneously kicked it down as Sabo's screams of pain filled the air. (f/n) and you both rushed to his side but you were the one to catch him from behind before his head hit the ground, your chest acting like a cushion for his head, and giving you a slight case of déjà vu which you ignored as you gently called his name and wiped away the tears from his face.

~3 days later~

Ever since he passed out you refused to leave Sabo's side. Throughout the whole three days that he was unconscious you were the one to take care of him and you had worn yourself out. Currently you were by his bedside with your head laying on his chest as you about to fall asleep. You weren't sure how long you had been laying like that, but some of the other revolutionaries including Koala and (f/n) were there with you. Then you heard a groan and lifting your head looked to see that Sabo had finally woken up. He blinked a couple of times before sitting up.

And just as he turned his head towards her, Koala started balling and telling him about how worried she was. Something about the display made you ache inside with a slight pang of jealousy. But after explaining that he had regained his memory and needed to talk with Dragon all of you left his room. For a split second though you thought you caught sight of Sabo with a sad look on his face.

~2 years later at Dressrosa~

You and Sabo had grown a slight distance over the past couple of years but were still good friends enough that you could trust each other on missions. However, it seemed that Koala didn't trust him to not get lost in his thoughts or let his emotions get the better of him. So now you were walking through the halls of the Coliseum following him as closely as possible without being seen. A feat that impressed even yourself with how much these halls echoed with every step that either of you took.

Eventually you got to an all too familiar room where you had to hide behind some nearby barrels, while Sabo approached a certain rubbery boy. Though you couldn't hear what was said from your hiding place you still found yourself smiling at the sight of the tearful reunion. But as you shifted a little to try and get a little bit closer your foot knocked and empty bottle, which then proceeded to roll across the floor and into the boys' line of sight. Before you had the chance to run away you were then wrapped up in rubbery arms that forcefully dragged you to their source and found yourself face to face with the raven haired future king of pirates.

"(Y/n)? Why are you here?" Sabo looked puzzled about your presence.

"Koala got worried." You simply stated. "Can you put me down please?"

Seeing that Sabo knew you Luffy complied and started to seemly examine you before asking. "Are you Sabo's girlfriend?"

The silence that followed engulfed the whole room before your face exploded with red blush. "Um-mmm no I'm not." You stuttered. Luffy then looked at his brother "Sabooooo! She's really pretty and obviously likes you! Why haven't you asked her out yet?!"

Before he could answer, Bartolomeo, who had been in the room the whole time, interrupted and reminded everyone of what they needed to do. The green-haired fan boy went with Luffy, leaving you and Sabo alone. Turning away from you he coughed into his fist as a nervous gesture while apologizing for the way Luffy acted. "It's okay. I'm not offended...though I'd be lying if I said it didn't strike a nerve." You muttered the latter half of your statement.

"What do mean?" he asked while approaching you. "Was he correct in his assumption that you like me?" Unable to speak your answer you nodded. And before you could even blink you found yourself in his embrace.

"Oh thank goodness!" he sighed before he pulled back enough to look at you. "I guess I better go with Luffy's suggestion now. Will you go out with me?" he asked with a big grin on his face. You could not say no to that heart melting smile now could you and muttered out a yes. He gently caressed your cheeks and asked "May I kiss you?" After you told him yes the two of you shared what felt like the perfect moment which you wished never had to end. At least until you had to breathe.

"YESSSSSS!!!!!" you both abruptly pulled away to find an excited (f/n) high-fiving Koala. "Our OTP has finally sailed!!!!!"
