My body felt weak as I walked down the All too familiar corridors of the hospital. I had just finished my new type of chemotherapy and for some reason, it made me even more tired than my previous treatment. When it suddenly felt like I was about to throw up, I made a quick turn and started to head for the bathroom, but before I made it there, my body bumped into something and before I knew it, I was laying on the floor.
- By the angel, I'm so sorry
I turned my attention towards the direction of the sound and what my eyes came across was pure beauty.
- It's fine, I muttered
Since I already felt dizzy before the super model in front of me pushed me into the floor, I knew that I wouldn't be able to stand up again on my own. I stretched out towards the guy but when I got no response, I started to get really frustrated.
- Hello, are you going to help me up or what? I asked angrily
- I'm sorry, but I can't see you, the guy who stood in front of me said
- What are you, blind?
- Actually, yes. At least I was, but I had my surgery today that probably will give me my eyesight back
Instead of answering, I just looked at the guy and that's when I realised that his eyes were covered by a pair of sunglasses that I hadn't noticed.
- I'm sorry, I said and sighed
- Don't you worry about it, it's fine. Do you still want me to help you up? He asked with a concerned voice
- Yeah, I answered
The guy stretched out his hand, in the wrong direction I might add, but when I finally got ahold of his hand, he dragged me up from the floor like I weighed absolutely nothing.
- Thank you, I stuttered
As I stood beside him, I realised how freaking tall he actually was. I felt like some kind of baby compared to him and that's something I never do.
- Before I leave you alone, can you tell me if I'm walking around in the right corridors? I'm a bit confused
- If you don't have cancer, you're in the wrong corridors. This isles are only for cancer patients, I answered and tried to get my balance back
- Wonderful, I must have taken a wrong turn and gotten lost, the guy said and let out a loud sigh
- Do you want me to help you back to your department? I asked
- No, you don't have to. I don't want to make you more annoyed by me than you already are, he answered
- Bullshit, I'll help you
As I started walking, I felt how my head started to feel dizzy again and before I knew it, I had taken a tight grip on the super model's shoulder.
- Hey, are you okay? He asked and the concern in his voice was back
- Yeah, just a little dizzy, I answered and tried to not throw up all over the beautiful guy beside me
- You never told me what you're doing here. I mean, I practically told you that I just had a eye surgery
- I'm here for my daily treatment and chemotherapy, I answered
- Wow, daily? That must suck
- You're getting used to it, I said and tried to keep myself from sighing
- Do you mind if I ask you what kind of cancer you have? The guy asked
- Brain cancer
When I didn't get any kind of response from the stunning guy beside me, I turned my attention towards him and saw that he had a painful expression on his face.
- Try smiling, I have heard that it actually helps, I said and tried to lighten up the awkward situation
- Smiling isn't really my thing
I was just about to answer, but that's when I realised that the two of us had made it back to his department. I took away my hand from his shoulder and took a few steps back.
- We're here. Try not to get lost the next time though. You never know what kinds of creeps that walk these corridors, I said and chuckled
- Thank you so much and I'm sorry for knocking you over. I really hope that it won't happen again, the guy answered and to my surprise, he also let out a chuckle that in my opinion, was the most beautiful sound I ever had heard in my life.
- Don't worry about it, I answered
I was just about to walk away and leave the guy alone, when someone suddenly grabbed my wrist. As I slowly turned around, I saw how the guy held my arm in a tight grip.
- I never caught your name, he said with a rather awkward voice
- Magnus, I answered
- It's nice to meet you. My name is Alec, by the way, he answered
- Alec? Is short for something? I asked and looked at the guy
- Yeah, it's short for Alexander, but I prefer to be called Alec instead
- Well, it was really nice meeting you and I hope you get your eyesight back, I said and smiled, not that it matter because he couldn't see it
- Thank you, Alec said
I took one last look at him and thereafter, I left him alone and walked back to my own department where my father waited for me. When he saw me, he flashed me a smile and pulled me in for a hug. I hugged him back and felt how the comfort from one of my parents made me feel a lot better.
