Breathe in.... out. Breathe in.... out. Mai was concentrating the best she could. This was finally her chance to get out of wherever this place was again, she was losing her mind, she cant remember how long shes been here, Mai was sure that the darkness in the room was the cause of the madness in the back of her head. She needed to get back to her family. ... family.... she hadnt called them that in so long..., but now isnt the time to dwell on that, she had to escape and this was her only thread of hope. Mai had to do what she did before when she found herself at her childhood home. She reached with her mind..... nothing, again nothing. Exhausting, she had to keep going until she reached them, her family.
Mai felt as if she was pulled, not just from her own mind but her entire being was being, was being.... Pulled? With a jolt Mai opened her eyes to see her family and their faces of pure shock. They were surprised. Mai had just appeared out of thin air. "MAI!" everyone shouted and ran towards her and they all gathered around her and hugged her as if she was just brought back to life. Mai, at this moment felt safe, at peace, at home because of her family. Maybe she was wrong to go off on them like that, she should of tried to be more understanding and forgive them for being so busy within their own lives. She cried, but not tears of pain nor hurt this time. This time it was pure joy. They really do care, they always have she was just to blind to see it then. After a couple more minutes of hugging everyone finally let go of her. Lin brought Mai some tea after she was sat down on the couch. She sipped it, the taste of oolong filled her small mouth. Mai was comfortable for once, she couldnt remember when the last time she felt like this. Mai soon brought herself out of her thoughts and looked at everyone. They were waiting to hear from her and how she was able to get out of the unknown place where she was held. She set down her tea.
"I had a dream.... of my old childhood home. I had found this necklace that belonged to my mother." she held it up from her neck and clenched it in her hand. "However I soon noticed that it technically wasnt a dream. I had somehow teleported to my old home. I dont know how I did it completely, but im sure I understood it. I mean I figured if I was able to teleport temporarily for a moment, I could do it again but this time not temporarily." Lin looked like he understood what she was saying, he and Naru both actually understood what she was saying. She specterally teleported. Specterally being a metaphor of course. One can teleport using their mind to reach out wherever they please and/or desire. However it can be quite exhausting. Mai did have this exhausted look to her, but who could blame her she was being hidden from this THING and hasnt gotten much sleep for all they know. Mai saying she was exhausted would be a bit of an understatement. She feels as if she could passout any moment. "This necklace should hold some kind of protection against whatever that thing is. He shouldnt be able to touch me when I wear it."
"We should get you cleaned and put you right to bed Mai." the red headed nurse suggested. To Mai, that sounded more than wonderful, it sounded like the best thing shes ever heard of. Mai nodded signaling to the nurse that she totally agrees. She helped Mai stand and took her to the bathroom that was next to the wall with the equipment to wash up.
"You know she'll need to be told what Yas has mentioned to you Naru." Monk stated glancing over at the man. Naru just looked back and Monk and nodded his head only once, silently telling the muscian that he knows. Naru knows he has to be the one to break the news go his poor little Mai, but for now he'll let her get cleaned up and rested because after all, she had been through a lot for the past couple years. Best for her to get the rest she needs before coming up with any sort of plan. She needs this moment in time to just relax for once, no ghost, no sadness, no worries. Just herself and her family. Atleast for now that is, they'll all catch up with her after shes fully rested and doesnt look like the living undead.
