Asherah^^^^

I was reeling from what McFinnigan had said yesterday. Was I really that important to Darius? Could these powerful looking fairies even consider me a threat to them? I had always been looked upon as a mere kitten, not able to harm or be a threat to anyone, but look where I am now.

I had been given my own bedchambers last night for me to stay in. Darius was staying next door to me. I think it was so that he could keep an eye on me, and make sure I wasn't up to any funny business. I was secretly glad he was right next door to me. I didn't know anyone here, and I could see that I was clearly not liked by many fairies who stayed here.

A knock sounded on my door, and I groaned from my bed, unwilling to move.

"It's open." I called out, raising my head slightly to peer at whoever was knocking.

The door opened, and a long willowy girl walked in, her head bowed. She was wearing a crimson red crop top and long black pants. I had noticed earlier the very little clothes that were worn here. Even the workers wore as little as possible, without seeming indecent.

"Please get dressed, and follow me. I will be waiting outside your door once you are ready." She said softly before she turned and walked out of the room, as graceful as a gazelle.

I quickly hopped into my shower, scrubbing my body clean, as if I could wash away all of my troubles. When I stepped out, I saw a small stack of clothes on my toilet seat lid. There was a note on top of them that read:

I will have more garments ordered for you. These are traditional clothes worn by people who take up residence in the castle. Wear them willingly or get forced into them. Your choice.

I knew it was from Darius. I shivered at the threat in the note and quickly tossed it into a waste bin.

"And good morning to you too." I muttered to myself. Not hesitating, I quickly shimmied my body into the tight clothes. I stood in the full length mirror and studied my frame. I was dressed in a navy blue halter top with matching shorts. The navy blue looked as though it were tied dyed with white willowy spots decorating it. Almost my entire mid-drift was showing. It fit me perfectly like second skin, and I was a little self conscious about walking in front of a group of strangers while I was dressed like this.

Without any shoes on- my black combat boots didn't particularly match this outfit- I exited my room, finding the girl right where she said she would be. She barely glanced at me before she was treading away from me. I hesitated before following her.

She took a route that was unfamiliar to me. She was walking with confident strides, as if she knew exactly where she was going, and that was one of the reasons why I followed her.

We stopped in front of a set of double doors. She didn't knock, or announce her presence. She just stood there with her head down. She didn't need to announce anything though, because before long, the doors were opening up on their own accord.

Once the doors were fully open, she walked inside and I followed. It was a huge library with what seemed to be, thousands of books. Five huge book shelves that reached the ceiling. One old rickety ladder was attached to the book shelves, rarely used. The books were old and covered in dust.

In the center of all the bookshelves was a decent sized sitting area around a fireplace that kept the place very warm. Big soft cushioned couches were there for comfort, along with a few la z boy recliners.

"I have gathered her your highness." The girl bowed, and I looked in front of me to see Darius seated next to another man.

Darius nodded at the girl, and she scurried off, leaving me with him and the strange man whom I've never seen before. He wasn't a fairy, that much I could tell. His ears weren't pointy and his eyes were not a vibrant color. I stepped closer to where the two met, wondering what it was that Darius needed of me.
