I was standing outside, waiting on Darius and Rafael to come back to me with their things. They asked me where my luggage was so that they could grab it, but I reminded them sweetly that I was kidnapped, and had no time to pack my things.

So here I was, shivering in the same skimpy clothes I had on yesterday, outside. I was miserable. I hated being cold, and I have always done anything in my power to avoid it.

Asherah sauntered out of the castle with two bags, dressed in all white. She resembled a guardian angel, one who I was extremely jealous of because she looked toasty in her long white furs and thick pants.

“Here.” She said before tossing a bag at me. I barely caught it, not very good with things flying towards my face.

I looked at her with confusion on my face, and she said, “those are some extra warm clothes I managed to snag for you. Go and change quickly.”

I ran, not missing the chance to be warm. I quickly closed the door to a random bathroom I found and popped open the bag. I few outfits were in there, so I just chose one that looked to be the warmest.

I dressed into a black fur coat with white thick pants that were lined with wool on the inside, and I slid on some very soft boots.

I walked out and thanked Asherah many of times, grateful for the sudden warmth my body was receiving. The clothes were effectively shielding my body from the harsh weather.

A carriage saddled up, pulled by four horses with thick coats of fur and long enchanting hair. The door opened, and Rafael stepped out along with Darius. Darius grabbed Asherah’s and my luggage. Rafael held his hand out for us, and helped us hop into the tall carriage.

Inside the carriage, it was very warm and beautiful. The inside was a crimson red, and was very spacious and warm. Two benches of velvet cushion were, instead of facing each other like I’ve always seen in movies, both facing the front.

Rafael and Asherah both sat on the front bench with one another, and I took that as my cue to sit in the back.

Darius clambered into the carriage and didn’t hesitate to sit next to me. The bench we sat on was very roomy, and we both fit on it perfectly without having to touch each other, but Darius had other plans. He sat very close to me, his thigh brushing mine, sending shivers up and down my spine in delight.

I coughed, trying to hide how uncomfortable I was in the situation, and stared straight ahead of me, at the back of Asherah’s blonde head.

The carriage lurched forward, moving towards our destination at a fast and even pace.

“How is the carriage moving without a driver?” I wondered out loud.

Darius glanced down at me before returning his gaze back to the front of the carriage. “The horses are very well trained and only need to be told the destination in order to take us there. The horses know the land far better than anyone else does.”

I nodded my head in fascination. I suddenly wished to take a peak of the horses. Surely they would look different if they behaved differently than normal horses.

We had been in the carriage for a few hours, when my head started bobbing as I fought with my exhaustion. We woke up at the butt crack of dawn to start this trip, I was beginning to feel how tired I truly was.

I shook my head, trying to free it of the heavy for that seemed to be clouding it. Sooner than I had hoped, my eyelids drooped low, closing.

When I came to, the carriage was pulled to a stop, and my head was resting on Darius's arm. He didn't seem to mind, but I jumped back as fast as I could.
