The building we were inside of was a little run down. Electronic music pulsed through the air, the bass pounding in my ears and matching the thundering rhythm of my heart. White, red, and blue lights flashed through the dark room, providing light for only a mere second.

All the furniture in the room were made of pure leather, and bodies occupied them. People were making out in random places, some were even touching others a bit inappropriately, but no one else seemed to care.

People were writhing together on the dance floor, grinding and showing off their moves. Girls barely wore any clothes, and most guys had already taken their shirts off. Sweat gathered on their bodies, making them look even more shiny and slick in the light.

The room’s lights were black lights, and I could see any neon color on Asherah’s and my body, we were glowing in the dark. A DJ was standing in a booth above everybody else, a huge pair of headphones sat perched on his head as he bobbed his head to the music he was creating.

Asherah walked around the dance floor to the bar, and I followed after her closely, examining the other people around us. Upon closer inspection, I could see people biting other people’s necks, blood pooling out of the wound they created, making a mess.

I looked away, nauseous from the scene. I then spotted a huge male standing on the dance floor, dancing with a fairy with small green wings. The male had huge horns coming out of the sides of his head, and he had a nose piercing that made him resemble a bull.

Asherah and I stopped at the bar, and chose some seats. We turned around on our seats so that we could survey our surroundings. We got a full view of the dance floor from the bar.

“I see what you mean when you say creatures come here to let loose.” I observed, trying not to sound as nervous as I really was on the inside.

        “Oh yeah. Vampires, Fairies, Shifters.”

        “What are shifters?”
She rose her voice, and leaned closer to me so that I could hear her. “Shifters are creatures that can shift into animals. Mostly they choose to be in wolf form, but they can shift into any animal really.”

“Were the horses on the carriage shifters? Is that why they were able to bring us here without being led?”

“One of the horses in the front was. He was leading them, but the rest were just regular horses.” She explained. “I’m surprised you noticed that. You are much more observant than I had initially thought you to be.”

I giggled at her, turning back around to face the bar. The bartender looked to be very busy, not once having time to just relax. He was super fast, flashing from one side of the bar to the other.

“Hey Asherah, what is a ‘Onyx Feather?’”

She turned around to look at what I was pointing to on the bar menu above our heads. “That is a very strong drink that makes you super giggly, and makes you feel like you’re floating.”

“Huh.” I said thoughtfully. If it was strong to a fairy, than it would definitely affect me.

“Let’s dance.” Asherah offered, obviously done with just sitting around.

I glanced at a clock over the bar, and saw that I was not able to see what time it was. The clock was all black, and there was nothing on it. How strange.

I followed Asherah to the dance floor. She started wiggling her body, and dancing like an Indian would from India. Her body was very flowy and she looked as if she were made to dance. She looked at me and beckoned me to join her, and I hesitated. I wasn’t a very good dancer.
