I woke up to a pounding headache, and major acid reflux. My eyes felt like they were glued shut, and it seemed like I had tried to swallow a bunch of cotton balls, because I had intense cottonmouth. I sat up and groaned, covering my head with my hand as if to ward off the headache.
On the bed stand next to me, was a cup of cool water, and some light blue leaves with dark blue lining. I picked up the leaves and evaluated the exquisite design.
"Eat them." A feminine voice called out from the doorway of my room.
Asherah stood at the door, in her netted babydoll pajamas. Her long blonde hair was naturally straight, and silky in the sunlight. She looked beautiful even when she's just waking up.
"Eat them?" I questioned out loud.
She smiled at me, and practically bounced over to my bed, and perched herself at the end of it. "It'll help with your headache."
I took the blue leaves, and placed them in my mouth gently. The leaves were cool and refreshing like mint, and before long they disintegrated in my mouth. My headache immediately dulled to a tolerable pain.
"Wow." I breathed out in wonder. "They taste great."
"They're alright." Asherah answered in disinterest. "Do you have any plans for today?"
I thought for a minute before responding, "nah not really."
"I'm supposed to meet up with some of my friends in Ruby's Field this afternoon, and I was wondering if you would like to join me?"
"Ruby's Field?"
"It's a meadow down by the large creek that is shared by many creatures. Many fairies visit there on bright sunny days such as this one, because the ruby's that grow in the field are so beautiful in this weather."
Ruby's that grow? I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion. "Uh sure. Sounds like a plan."
Asherah left to get ready after squealing excitedly. I lay there on my bed, and realized that my headache had vanished. If we had the medicine that is used here, on Earth, we wouldn't need the drugs and harsh chemicals we put inside of our bodies almost everyday.
I threw on some clothes before looking out of a window in Rafael's room. I was shocked to see that the dreadful weather that was bestowed upon us, had did a complete three sixty and was now a very sunny day. I smiled brightly.
A monotone voice called out to me. "What are you so happy about."
I turned around to see Darius sitting on the couch with an old book in his hand. He wasn't even looking at me when he addressed me.
"Oh um, the weather. It's so much nicer than when we first arrived here." I answered sheepishly, a nervous smile gracing my lips.
He looked up at me from the book he was intently studying, and I was taken aback by his beauty once again. How could a man this beautiful really exist? His long black hair was tied back loosely at his neck, and his sharp blue eyes stared deep into my soul. I felt as if I would give anything for him to gaze at me softly.
"You're so peculiar." He mumbled at me before going back to his book, and ignoring my presence.
Asherah then walked in, and stood by the door. "Let's go Noel."
Outside of the estate we were staying in, the sky was brighter than I have ever seen it here, but at the same time that it was daylight, I could still see each star in the sky as if it were night time.
