Cheryl's stomach was instantly filled with butterflies, surprisingly enough more butterflies than she had ever felt with anyone before. She knew that if she thought about it too long then she'd start to freak out. She switched her mind off and started to slowly kiss him back, she could tell that it took Liam by surprise as he inwardly gasped slightly but continued to kiss her nonetheless.
She brought her hand up and interlocked her fingers with his that were resting on the side of her cheek, tilting her head and opening her mouth slightly to deepen the kiss. She felt his tongue touch her lips which she happily let in, both of their stomachs filling with a crazy amount of butterflies.
By the time they pulled apart Cheryl's hand was rested on the back of Liam's neck and Liam gently touched their foreheads together both with sweet smiles on their faces.
"Thank you" Cheryl whispered quietly.
"For what?" He asked, confused as to why she'd say thank you.
"For being you, you don't understand how much you've helped me over these past few days, heck, over the past few years we've been friends" Cheryl smiled making him smile in return and beckon her over for a hug. He leant back into the sofa and wrapped his arms around her as she rested her head on his chest, sweetly taking one of his hands and intertwining their fingers together.
"I'm sorry for not being there for you when we stopped talking" Liam sighed, it always annoying him that he could have done so much over the year that they weren't friends to help her.
"Liam. You have nothing to apologise for, that's not on you at all" Cheryl told him sternly, taking her head off his chest so she could look at him and make sure he knew that he was being serious.
"Ok, ok" Liam laughed and pulled her back into his chest, not wanting to leave the cuddle just yet.
"Liam?" Cheryl asked, tilting her head back up, Liam being able to hear the nervousness in her voice.
"Yeah?" He responded, gently stroking her hip to try and calm her down slightly.
"Do you want to give us a try?" She asked quietly, realising that if she didn't ask now she never would and she knew that he wouldn't because he would always think that she wasn't interested.
"Isn't that a question I should be asking you babe?" Liam chuckled slightly.
"I want to" Cheryl smiled before being caught in a loving kiss with Liam taking her by surprise yet responded by kissing him back.
"That's your yes" Liam smiled once they pulled apart making them both smile again, "but please don't say you want to try and not think it's going to work because that'll break me"
"I just want you to know that even though I've quite literally just left my husband, it doesn't mean that I'm gonna go back to him. Ever. You out of all people know that the love died a long time ago-"
"Chez-"
"Let me finish please" She told him to which he nodded, "I fell out of love with JB a long long time ago. I only ever stayed with him for my children in hopes that he would change. But things with you, they're different. There's always been that niggling feeling in the back of my mind telling me that you're 10 times the man he ever will be. You were there for me for the longest time and yet when I treat you like shit you still helped when I needed help. I'll never be able to thank you enough for that. I tried to ignore the feelings you give me for a long time, just telling myself it was because you were my best friend but I know now that it's more than that. I deserve to be treated with respect and I know there's not one bone in your body that won't treat me with disrespect. So yes I am really certain about giving us a try because there's only so long I can ignore my feelings for you" Cheryl breathed out once she finished her long speech.
