Chapter 6:Eyes Hidden With Shadows

The Doctor must've been faking the happiness because he sure didn't show it at the cafe.Amy and Rory were laughing at him because he was rambling on about things he'd done.I was sitting on the chair not paying attention because I was too caught up in thinking about my mother.

I didn't know anything about her.All that I knew was that she was the most important woman in the universe and her name.Alan wouldn't tell me anything because he thought that I really didn't need to know about her.'Thanks for the help Alan," I thought.

"Anna?"I heard Rory say."Hm?"I had no idea what they were talking about."Are you alright?"he asked."I'm fine.Why wouldn't I be?"I said quickly.The Doctor's smile slowly faded but he perked right back up when Amy mumbled something."What was that?" "Nothing,"she answered.They went right back to talking about whatever.

I closed my eyes but as soon as I did,I saw it.It's grin was haunting me and it's laugh.A terrible laugh.I couldn't open my eyes like it was coming.Forcing them shut.I tried and tried but all I could see was that awful thing."Anna?"the Doctor said."Doctor,I can't open my eyes,"I said,my voice shaking.It's face was growing larger.I could hear its laugh taunting me.

I heard it say,"You're mine now!"I wanted to scream but no sound was coming out.I couldn't hear anything else except those words.The Bean Nighe's face faded into the darkness and I opened my eyes as fast as I could.The Doctor was knelt down in front of me."Anna,what happened?"he asked worried.I swallowed hard.

"I saw it.It was laughing and it said "you're mine now."Do you know what that means Doctor?Am I okay?"I questioned.He just stared into my eyes."I don't know,"he said."But that thing must be very powerful to make you not open your eyes or speak!"I looked at the floor.I was shaking.Rory put his hand on my back."You're going to be fine,"he whispered.

I knew he was lying.I wasn't going to be fine.I was probably never going to sleep again.I gave him a fake smile.

He went over to Amy.We could all see the Doctor was getting frustrated.He took off his jacket and put it on the rail.He went below the console.Amy and Rory followed him.

I didn't bother getting up.I didn't feel like talking.All I could hear was him working and muffled talking.'I want Alan to come home.I hope this is a dream.It's all a dream.It's all a dream.It's all a...'I thought and I fell asleep.I was awakened by the Doctor rambling on and on about stories."Oh,you're awake!Great!"he said.

I rubbed my eyes and got up. My butt hurt from sitting for awhile.I didn't really catch the rest of what he was saying since I was so tired,so I just nodded my head and went along with it.He was smiling,but I couldn't tell if it was a real smile or a fake one.

His eyes were shadowing the rest of his face expression.You couldn't tell if he was lying or not.I tried to walk for a bit but I just felt so dizzy."Doctor,is it going to kill me?"I wondered.He turned to me shocked.He put his hands on my shoulders and said,"Of course not!I won't let it.I'll protect you.You're always safe with me!"

'Yeah, that's a lie...' I thought.
