"You!" I yell. "How did you get here, Hook?"
Harry Hook grins and opens the door to let Uma and two other people I don't recognize, brother and sister it seems. They both have the same straight black hair and red-brown eyes.
"Dizzy, go get someone." Mal says, shooing her off. Dizzy runs away fast.
Uma smiles. "Oh, of course our welcome party was you two. Well, introductions! Mal, Elicia, this is the god's Ares' kids. Sera and Arson. Guys?"
The two kids lunge forward at the same time. I swerve to avoid them, but Mal doesn't. She swipes her hands up and a green blast knocks them back. I almost smile, but she looks tired already.
"Ellie, get out of here! Go get Ben!" She yells.
"No not without you!" I swipe a hand up and a wall of ice descends to the sky, blocking us off from Uma and her goons. I grab Mal's hand and start running for the school, but my ice wall explodes and sends us flying forwards, slamming into the ground.
Next thing I know, someone's grabbing my arms and picking me off the ground. My head buzzes and my vision blurs, but I make out Mal being dragged along the same way. Back in front of the car, where Harry and the Arson kid are missing. I glance behind me and sure enough, Harry's holding Mal and the Arson kid is holding me. He grins and waves. He's only holding me with one hand!
I glance back at Uma. She smiles. "Nice run. I'll give you that. But these kids here are half-god. I'd like to see you try."
"Just did." I grunt, trying to get the three extra Umas to disappear.
The girl Sera sweeps her black hair behind her shoulders. "What're we gonna do about 'em? I know this one," She strides towards me, flicking my nose, "owes us all somethin' big."
"I don't owe anybody anything." I say, finally getting rid of the extra Umas and Seras.
"Oh, yes you do. You were one of the kids who almost got fed to the fishies, right?"
"Her and Ben." Uma says.
"Then she owes the Hanses her life, don't she?"
"Seriously, you people need to eat dictionaries." I say. "And I don't owe anybody anything. Do the math, they tried to kill me, I'm not owing them something now!"
She slaps me and Mal stares at where she hit me. I risk a glance down as much as I can, and smoke is coming off. I bite my lip hard and concentrate to pull ice out and onto the burn. How'd she burn me like that??
She blows on her hand. "Daughter of Ares, remember? And while we may not be fire people, or whatever, we can make people hurt."
"He-he!" The boy laughs. Arson? What kind of name is that, anyway?
"Shut up, you idiot." Sera says.
"He-he!"
"Shut up! I'll get Dad!"
He whimpers and goes back to holding me. Geez, what's wrong with this kid? Is he okay?
Uma rolls her eyes and puts her hand on Sera's shoulder. "Back to what we were saying, aren't you people wondering how we got here in the first place?"
"Yes. I'm just more concentrated on how your nose will look if I break it." I say.
She rolls her eyes again as Arson breaks into laughter again. "Shut up, Ar. It's actually your, Mal, and Ben's fault, y'know. When I ran back to the Isle, I didn't actually go back. I tore a page out of your spellbook and used it to get Harry and these two dorks out."
