Their faces were priceless, all right.

Jay spewed out the drink he had in his mouth, Mal and Evie both fell out of their chairs, Ben jumps so hard he knocks over two lamps, Dizzy screams along with Brit, and Kalia keeps reading her book, nodding at Sera like she just saw her yesterday.

Sera nods back.

"S-s-sera??" Jay stutters.

"Hey, Jay. 'Sup, E?" Sera winks at everybody.

Evie gapes at her from the floor.

Arson grins madly. "She back!"

"Duh." Mal grumbles, pulling herself off the floor.

Brit's mouth flops up and down like a fish.

I step up next to her.

"Ellie!" Ben exclaims. "What---how----is---"

"It's kinda a long story." I admit. "But the thing is, she's back. For good, hopefully."

"Aw, Icy, I never knew ya cared so much!"

"Uh, you were gone for a year. And it was kind of my fault."

"How was it yer fault?" Sera demands. "My dad's a complete moron, he captures my brother, and you try to save us. Ya'll have such weird "my fault" labels."

I can't resist smiling. "All right, I guess it wasn't too much my fault."

Sera snickers. "Don't forget about Shrimp."

"Yeah. Her too." I agree.

"B-b-but... How... You.." Ben splutters.

Sera throws her arm over my shoulders. "Ah, look at 'em,  all cute with'eir mouths open." She coos.

Arson can't contain his grin.

Everyone continues to stare at Sera. She finally glares at them. "Oy. I'm awake. Move on, already!"

They all nod numbly. She rolls her eyes and claps her hands so loud my ears pop. "MOVE ON!" she yells, waving her hands around.

They all start and stop staring like buffoons. "Sorry." Dizzy says. Then she and Brit run forward and hug Sera. Sera grunts and hugs them back, smiling despite herself. She nods at the rest of the group.

"So, what's happened while I've been gone?" She asks. "Other than Miss Heterchromia, here."

"Uh...." Ben sighs. "You've missed a lot."

"No duh." Sera sits. She plops down criss-cross on the ground. "Spill, my dudes."

Three hours later, we're at my homecoming, and Sera can't contain her giggles. "Carlie is finally alive!" she crows.

I can practically feel my face heat up. "Oh, shut up."

She keeps snorting and laughing her head off. "I can't believe you guys couldn't wait a few more weeks before kissin'! I could'a taped it all!"

"The press go plenty of pictures of us, thank you." I snap.

"Press?" Sera asks.

"You didn't let us get to that part yet." I say. "We went to the Enchanted Lake, and someone took pictures of us there. We came back and there was this huge crowd of reporters, and they--"

"They barged against 'em and asked stupid questions that were none of their business." Maira breaks in.

"Yeah. Pretty much that." Carlos agrees.

"Close enough." I acknowledge. "Anyway, we were sent this awful hate mail and stuff, and Carlos got this envelope that had a red finger hex in it, and... what'd the note say?"

"Your hands are stained as much as hers, now." Carlos says instantly.

"Stained?" Sera asks.

"They thought I'd been killing a bunch of people." I sigh. "Because of who my dad is."

Sera flushes red. "Where're these reporters? I wanna go break their noses. And ankles. And maybe their skulls."

"See, nobody thinks she's a murderer." Carlos grumbles.

I shush him. "Anyway, I took Carlos to the lake to wash it all out, and by then we'd gotten this note that said Endora was the one who took the pictures and told the press when we were coming, but---"

"Hold it. You tried to ruin Carlie, Dori?" Sera demands.

Endora rolls her eyes. "I don't even know what Carlie is. And for the last time, I was NOT the one who did that!"

Sera raises her hands in defense. "Sheesh! Fine!"

"You didn't let me get past it." I say. "We went to the lake, and then Maira showed up and told us everyone was Beasts, and then Carlos turned, and we went back and everything started... y'know. Doing what it normally does for us."

"Falling to Ch-aos?" Sera suggests, making a 'ch' sound instead of 'k'.

"It's chaos." Endora sighs. "And yeah. I turned everyone, they came after me, blah, we got sent to the Isle, blah blah, you came back, blah blah blah. Okay! Story's over! Yay! Can we please find who used my name now?"

Sera stands up and brushes her legs off. "Why don't you just use the reveal spell?"

Endears face goes slack with shock. "Oh! I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks, Sera!"

Sera waves her hand, pretending to blush and flutter her eyelashes. "Ah, yer too much."

Endora waves her wand. "Find the truth, find it now. Find it now, I don't care how!" She snaps her wand downward and a poof of sparkles appears, shaping into a person.

I groan loud and long. "Why am I not surprised??" I yell, tearing at my hair.

Ares looks around in shock. "What the..."

Sera rubs her fist, grinning greedily. "Dori?"

She waves her wand and Ares seems to lose a bit of his red glow. "Already done."

"Good."

She punches Ares in the nose.

"OW!" he yelps, his voice a few octaves higher.

She punches him four more times, then kicks him hard in the shin and steps back. Arson grabs him, throws him over his head, and down on the ground. I step near him and just snap my fingers. Blue flame shoots out and Ares turns a sickly gray, then freezes over. I kneel down and tap on his frozen forehead. "You. Are. A---"

"Sicko!"

"Jerk!"

"MORON!" people keep chiming in.

"I was going to say slimy little cockroach." I admit. I stand up. "But good guesses."

I stand up again and Endora waves her wand. Are disappears. "Now that we know... Why don't we find a way to get rid of this Beaty-ness?"

Arson pouts. "I like bein' big."

Sera ruffles his hair. "Sure ya do, big guy."

"I DON'T!" The rest of the guys yell. All the girls laugh.
