The remaining high lords moved behind Cairn as he lifted off the lid of the coffin and
"GODDAMMIT YOU BITCH" shrieked Cairn as he clutched his face.
What the hell is he screaming about asked Rhys down the bond.
"Mother bless would you stop the damn screa-" began Feyre but trailed off as Cairn snarled, turned around, and removed his hands from his face.
Motherfucker. There was a large iron key stuck through Cairn's eye.
Rhys saw Feyre take an unconscious step backward. He could feel her uneasiness. He himself was uneasy too, but unlike Feyre he was not uneasy about the scene itself but uneasy as to how the rusty key got there.
His shock only increased as the other man, Fenrys, walked calmly over to his screaming comrade and roughly jerked the key out of his eye and tossed it to the side.
"HOLY SHIT" gasped Hellion causing the other high lords to mutter a string of curses. Though soon these curses were interrupted with a sound. A laugh he realized. A sharp, dead, quiet laugh that reminded him of things he'd rather forget. Rhys discreetly moved closer to Feyre as he searched the room for the source of the sound to no avail. It echoed through the room as though it was the sound of slaughtered innocents crying out for help. The laughter ended abruptly and he heard another sound. The rattling of chains. But this time the source was clear, it had come from the coffin. All eyes turned toward the coffin as a woman with shining golden hair that flowed down her bare body and turquoise eyes ringed with gold stepped out of the coffin.
Sorry about all these short chapters. I don't have a whole lot of time these days, but I'll try to make this next chapter as long as possible or publish a string of short chapters.
