They thought they had broken her, but they were wrong. They thought they broke her the day they had violated her in the worst way possible. That day had been different than the others. On other days, the guards, Carin, and Maeve would strip her down to her undergarments and slice her open with dull blades, iron whips, and all sorts of instruments with the sole purpose to make her scream. But on that day it had only been the two of them, just her and Carin. He had striped her down entirely, then removed his own clothes and forced himself upon her. She shuddered at the memory. Well memories actually, he had done it every day since and it had been months, but she was still not broken. She had to repeat the names of those she cared about just to remind herself that the world wasn't completely evil... Rowan...Lysandra...Aedion...Dorian...Fleetfoot... Evangeline...Chaol...
Despite everything happening to her, she was dealing, not happy, but not broken, just dealing. The opening of the iron coffin's lid interrupted her thoughts.
"Her Majesty Queen Maeve has ordered your presence in the throne room" sounded a deep male voice.
"Well then are you going to let me out of these gods-damned chains or are you going to carry me? Your choice."She chimed innocently through the mask that covered her face entirely.
He didn't remove the mask nor the chains. Very well then it looks like it will be the latter, she thought. She moved to get up out of the coffin, but was shoved back inside. How dare he, she thought, who in the rutting-hell did he think she was, she could burn off his favorite body part with less than a thought. If only she could get out all the iron, be on equal footing... She made to get out of the coffin again, but this time the lid closed in her face and she was returned to the the all consuming darkness. She was wondering what the hell was happening when she felt the coffin being lifted off the ground and being carried, most likely to the throne room, she concluded. It still astounded her she that even after they had supposedly "broken" her she was still kept under lock and coffin. Though she guessed the reason didn't really matter. All that mattered was that she still hadn't received the chance to escape yet, but soon they would let their guard down and when that happened she would unleash her wrath upon them like the fire breathing bitch queen they knew her to be. The male carrying the coffin set it down with a loud clang and the coffin lid slid open again to reveal the face of her bitch of an aunt.
"My dear niece, how has Carin been treating you? Are you enjoying your playtime?" Maeve said through a blood red smile.
Aelin muttered something around the lines of "go back to you hell you bitchy ugly coward " but the sound was lost in the mask.
"Well I guess it doesn't really matter now does it? Moving on. The reason I called you here is simple. I have a job for you." Meave said.
This... This was the reason they thought they had broken her. She had recently begun to do small jobs for Maeve, like killing and torturing deserters or traitors of war. Though even with those jobs she was still always under heavy guard and surveillance she thought to herself. It made her almost sick to the stomach think about what she had done to those people, but matters such as that had never bothered her before and there was no use in letting it start to consume her now. She could feel that weight later. Just as she would deal with what Carin has been doing to her later, but not now. Her only objective now was freedom. Aelin was dragged out of her thoughts as Maeve continued on.
"Right now my dear niece, we are going to a meeting of the high lords of Pyrinthan to to offer an alliance... and right now as things stand, I think they will be more than eager to agree to our terms. That is, once they get over the shock of seeing us at their private meeting."
Then Aelin heard the sound of a portal opening. Most likely through the use of wyrd marks she thought. She felt the of the iron coffin close, and the box being lifted up off the ground and dragged through the portal. So it seemed that Maeve, her, and gods know who else would be taking a trip to Pyrinthan, where ever the hell that was, she thought.

I know I'm such an awful person for writing something like this about the badass fire breathing bitch queen we all know and love. So please just bear with me and wait till she gets to Pyrinthan cause then shits gonna get real.🖤
