Chapter 4 - Rejection

2:30 am ———-
Alex wakes up, she notices that almost half of her body is in Maggie's arms. Dammit Alex! How could you do this! You made yourself vulnerable! Now Maggie's gonna look at you like a broken doll...

She got off of Maggie and out of bed, she walked to the kitchen and grabbed her whiskey bottle and poured it into a glass. She refilled it a couple of times. She feels ashamed, worthless, a waste of time, alone. Her thoughts filled her mind more and more until she was panicking.

Screw it. She thought. She grabbed the whole bottle and chugged, she cringed at the burn and kept going until she nearly threw up. She gave it a minute to settle in. Relieved, she felt relieved. She tried to get up and go back to bed but failed and fell. Waking up to the loud noise, Maggie got up ran towards Alex with such concern, but instead of saying anything, she just hugged her.

Alex pushes away, "I'm fine."

"Alex, hey- " Maggie gets cut off.

"no..no.. NO STOP! I SAID STOP!" Alex yelled.

Maggie gets pushed hard to the floor, breathing heavily, she slowly gets up, she's never seen Alex like this.

"Okay.... Okay." Maggie said gently.

She walked away from Alex in another room and called Kara. "Kara I need you over here Alex won't let me get near her.."

"On my way" Kara said immediately.

Within about 10 minuets, there is a knock on the door. Maggie goes around the coffee table to give Alex her space who is now sitting under the kitchen table crying. Maggie opens the door and lets Kara in.

Kara walks towards Alex and already starts to see her breathing change pace. Kara stops and sits down where she was standing giving Alex space. "Alex what's wrong?"

Alex starts to dig her nails into her palms again, because she can't answer, she can't explain how much pain she feels, how alone she feels, how all her thoughts take over her and she feels like she can't breathe.

Kara looks down at her hands and gets up and goes to hug her, Alex tries to push away, she tries to escape Kara arms, she punches and kicks, but Kara doesn't feel a thing so she holds her tight. Alex soon gives up and starts to sob in Kara's chest.

She soon takes Alex to bed and sets her in.

11:am ————-
Alex slowly opens her eyes and then closes them right away due to the throbbing of her head oh, god she thought to herself. She couldn't really remember what had happened.
"Hey Maggie, what the hell happened.."

Maggie sighs and responds with "You had a rough night. But don't worry, today we're just going to stay here and relax okay? Unless you want to do something." She walked towards Alex with a cup of water and an Advil.

Alex sat up and took the pill "Thanks." She got up and went to the bathroom almost tripping on her way there.

When she got out she just went to lay on the couch and soon knocked out.
