A couple of months ago...

I was having lunch at Noah's table today, which I rarely do since his friends weren't big fans of mine. But for his sake, I agreed to sit with them. I was already getting dirty glances from his 2 best friends Liam Stone and Isaac Brown. But tried my best to ignore them as Noah told me.

I focused all my attention on Noah, who was talking about his football game yesterday. But it was hard since I had no idea what he was talking about with his football terminology and the icy stare of Liam directed straight at me.

"It was crazy, bro. He basically almost broke his arm," Noah said with a chuckle. He turned to me, looking to see that I wasn't really paying attention as much as I wanted to. He leaned down, whispering in my ears: "You okay, babe?"

I smiled, nodding my head. He returned the smile before kissing my lips.

"I need to go," Liam suddenly said, getting up from his seat and walking away without saying another word. Everyone at the table stared at him leave.

"What happened to him?" Noah questioned to himself but loud enough for me to hear. I awkwardly smiled and shrugged my shoulder.

Liam Stone was the boy who was known for bullying anyone he didn't like, which means me.

It doesn't help that I was, in fact, dating his best friend.

Strangely, he was also known to be the most popular boy at our school. Everyone swooned at his feet, and they didn't really see who he really was.

Noah and I walked hand in hand over to his car after school was done. I noticed his group of friends surrounding Liam's jeep parked right next to Noah's. They were all smoking and talking about who knows what.

He smiles as he walked over to them as I tagged along behind him. The boys stopped their conversations and turned over to look at us.

"Want one?" Issac asked, stretching his pack of cigarettes to Noah, contemplating whether to say yes or no.

But gladly took one without any complaints, and I stared at him, giving him a stern look of disappointment. He knew I hated it when he smoked. Both my parents were doctors, and I was well aware of the dangers it came to smoking.

But I kept my mouth shut, not wanting to start a fight in front of all his friends.

"pff," Liam, who was in front of me, scoffed as he stared at my face. I looked at him, wanting so badly to ask what his problem was, but Noah did it instead.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked, taking a puff out of the lit cigarette.

"What man? I'm good," he said, looking off to the side.

"Are you sure about that cuz you been off all day since lunch,"

"Leave it, I'm good," he said. Noah was getting ready to say more, but I grabbed his arm and said: "Leave it, Noah. He is asking you too,"

"I don't need you to talk for me," Liam raised his voice, his hands curling into a fist.

"Wow, there, dude, that's my girl you're speaking to," Noah got defensive, grabbing my harm pushing me behind him.

"Then tell your fucking girl to stop talking and getting involved," Liam said, pointing at me.

"Getting involved? She's my girlfriend, Liam; she has all the rights to get involved," Noah yelled at Liam. Anger was vivid in his eyes.

And I knew Noah was defending me, but I did not want him to fight with his best friend because of me. Liam already hated me and him having been silent was only for Noah's sake.
