I parked my car in the parking lot behind the hospital.
I arrived at work 30 minutes early today since we had someone new joining the staff, and they had asked me to train them. I didn't mind, though.
I had always done my job by myself, and having another helping hand would be great, especially when it might go faster.
I straightened the wrinkle that formed on my scrubs and made my way inside. I punched in and put all my stuff away in the back locker room.
"Storm over here," one of the nurses called out when I made my way to the front desk. "This is Nathan. You're gonna be training him,"
I looked over to see a tall and slim fit, handsome guy with nice dirty blonde hair with round glasses standing beside her.
He reached out his hand so I could shake it.
"Hi there, I'm Nathan, but you already knew that cause this lovely nurse just told, and I just repeated my name and-" he rambled. "Sorry, I didn't mean to talk this much," I giggle, looking at him. I shook his hand and said, "it's okay. I'm Storm,"
"Storm. I like that name, You know. It reminds me of this character in a book that I read. She kinda looks like you by the way you have such pretty eyes,"
He was a talker and a very fast one at that. I didn't know how I would keep up with him; he seemed to be a mouth full. Quite literally.
I'm always reticent, and I didn't speak much, but with him around at work, I must as well be forced to.
It has been 2 hours, and I have been training Nathan for most of it. He was surprisingly a fast learner and a charmer. Everyone that has talked to him liked him a lot, and he was hilarious at that.
We were currently on our break, and I wanted to eat on my own, but he grabbed me, sitting down with him at one of the break room tables.
"So, Storm, where do you go to school?" He asked.
"I go to Norcllawn High," I said quietly.
"Ohh, the rival school I go to, Alester High,"
I nodded my head. Alester high was 30 min from where I live, and it was the known rival school. It was where Sarah had gone before transferring to Norcllawn.
"You know I've been thinking about going there for a while now. Alester is a little much for me, and I've been thinking of transferring for a while, but then again, how could I leave all my friends? They are all amazing, and they will be crushed if I leave them and-"
"Um, Nathan,"
"I'm rambling again, aren't I?"
I nod my head, "Just a little bit," I say.
"I tend to do that a lot," he said for the first time, only speaking one sentence.
"It's okay. I've never met someone like you," I said
"you mean someone that talks as I do,"
"Ya," I let a laugh, not trying to offend him.
"Ya, I get that a lot," he said with a giant smile.
I got to know him; I can tell he was a very energetic and fun person to be around, even if he talks quite a lot. He was fun to be around.

I went home after the long hour at work, and all I wanted to do was relax. As much as I loved my job, it's still a lot, especially when I had to train Nathan.
I greeted my parents, who were in the kitchen, preparing dinner and made my way upstairs. I took a quick shower and changed into some comfortable clothes.
