Lunch with the Stones was the last thing I wanted to do right now.
I wanted to avoid Liam as much as I could, but when we sat on the patio outside my house with him only inches away from me was a little difficult.
Tyler was home from college, and I was more than happy to see him. I had missed him terribly.
My parents invited his family over for lunch just to catch up like old-time, and as much as I loved Tyler and Mrs. Stone, I hated having Liam over.
After what had happened with him, I could barely think about anything else. And I hated every single minute of it.
I didn't know what to think of any of it.
Liam's glanced at me a couple of times while I spoke with his mother about various things.
"Have you heard back from any colleges?" She asked me with a smile.
I nod my head. "I got into most schools, but I'm still waiting for Princeton," I said with a frown.
"Don't worry, sweetheart, I know you would get in for a fact," she grabbed my hands, squeezing them. "At least if you do, Liam will be there too," she smiled, looking over at her son.
Liam got into Princeton long before, but to find out that it was his last decision crushed me.
I had tried avoiding him for as long as I remember, and I am looking forward to this year being over, but to find out that he would be at my dream school made my dreams of ever going there disappear.
And right now, even if I did get in, I wasn't sure if I would go to the school, I had dreamed about since childhood.
"Mm, the only way she's getting in is if she paid her way in," Liam said, making my heart sink.
My parents looked over at him from where they were standing.
My dad opened his mouth to say something, but I gave him a look begging him not to say anything.
"Shut up, Liam. Storm is smarter than your dumb fucking head," Tyler defended me, appearing to stand closer to me.
Liam got up and stood in front of his brother.
"Oh, ya, is that why I got in, and she didn't," Liam said. I couldn't believe him. How could he say that?
"That's enough, Liam!" Mrs. Stone said. He snorted, turning away from us and walked right out.
"I'm so sorry, Storm. You know that boy," Mrs. Stone said with a scowl.
I nodded my head. "It's okay, Mrs. Stone. I'm not mad about it," I lied. I was mad about it.
"Well, either way, she can't get rid of me," Ty said, placing his hand on my shoulder. I let out a laugh, but I could barely even mean it when Liam's words still rang in my head.
I quickly averted my eyes at Tyler. Trying to distract me away from Liam.
"So tell me how it's going with the girl," I teased him.
"Oh my god, Storm! I could go on and on about her. She's beautiful," his eyes lit up, and a huge grin appeared on his face.
My heart melted at seeing him so happy.
"I think I'm gonna ask her to be my girlfriend," he said.
"Yess, Ty!!" I squealed, pulling him into a hug. "You got to introduce me to her. I want to meet her," I said, letting him go.
"For sure. I need her to be meet my best friend," he said, patting my head. I smiled at him pushing his hands away and fixing my hair. "You're gonna love her,"
