I was nervous about talking in front of the class. I kept shaking and praying that something could happen and I didn't have to present right now.
Even if it was a black hole sucking me in or aliens taking over our planet, and they take me hostage. I would be fine with anything as long as I don't have to be here.
"I- I did my p-p-project on um," I was struggling to form my words and honestly, I had forgotten what my whole project was about when I saw those mean groups of girls and guys who sat at the back laughed at me.
"Loser," someone yelled out, and I tensed up, and I wasn't prepared to say anything. All the practicing at home and the pep talk I gave myself in the bathroom before class didn't seem to help at all at this point.
"Shut up, dude. Let her present," Noah Park, a boy in my class, said, slapping the hand of his friend.
Noah Park was the only nice boy and quite a handsome guy if I'm completely honest. I mean, I don't like him or anything, but he is cute.
I smiled at him, which he had returned, and I continued with my presentation with no interruptions.
I don't know what it was, but him standing up for me made me feel kinda better about myself, and I was able to do it without really thinking about it.

As soon as I had done my presentation, which surprisingly went better than I thought it would. I went to find Noah and thank him.
Luckily our locker was very close to each other, and I found him standing there on his phone by himself.
I walked up to him, fidgeting with my fingers. "Hey, um, thank you for what you did back there,"
He lifted his eyes off his phone and looked at me.
He smiled, showing all his perfect pearl teeth, and said: "Hey, it's all good. Those guys can be jerks sometimes,"
"Ya tell me about it,"
He let out a soft chuckle and ran his hand in his hair, making him look even more attractive than he already was.
"Okay, well, I should get going," I said, turning to leave and go back to my locker.
"Wait,"
I stopped on my track, turning to face him.
"Uh, I was wondering if maybe you-"
"Noah, what are you doing with Stormy Fatty?" Liam Stone said, interrupting Noah.
Liam was my neighbour we live right next to eachother. We were so close that I was able to see him from my window.
He also, for some reason, hated me. He was so rude and never was nice to me. Bullied me anytime he even crosses path with me.
You would think because of that I would hate him, but honestly, I've had this crazy infatuation with the boy that hated me.
I tensed up when he came to stand in front of me and next to Noah. I hung my head low and stared at the floor, nervous by his presence.
"Stop, don't call her that," Noah said, standing up for me once again.
"What? Stormy Fatty? I'm only calling her what she is,"
That sting. And I wanted to run away without turning back.
"Seriously, dude, stop. I'm sorry about him, Storm," Noah said, looking at me with a frown. I know he felt bad for me, and I appreciated him for standing up for me.
