28. BONUS CHAPTER 1

7 YEARS LATER

RYKER'S POV

Ryker gritted his teeth in frustration as the meeting progressed, impatiently waiting for the man to finish his presentation.

Even though he was impatient, his façade was calm and collected. He was waiting to go home to his beautiful pregnant wife. Wife... he still can't believe that they actually got married.

After finishing university, Arya moved in with Ryker. While Ryker took over the multimillion dollar family business, the international cooperation, Cross Industries, Arya started working as a child psychologist at the local hospital. Even though they had their share of fights and disagreements, they always solved their problems by the end of the day.

Their love for each other never tended to cease but grew stronger. They had a beautiful but simple garden wedding two years ago with only their parents and close friends, which had always been Arya's dream.

His parents absolutely adore and love Arya and treat her like the daughter they never had. Her parents solved their problems with her and became closer to her after about four years of loosing touch too, and now, two years after their wedding, Ryker and Arya are expecting their first child, who is due next week, as the doctor said.

Ryker couldn't help but think about his wife and their unborn baby. A smile curved at the thought of them. Being in love with Arya was beautiful and it made him complete.

'I'm going to be a father...' Ryker thought excitedly. He snapped out of his thoughts to look at the men in the board room. He just wanted to run to Arya and be with her.

The ringing tone of his phone brought him back to the present. He checked to see Teresa, their elderly maid calling him. He picked up the phone and held it to his ear.

"Hel--"

"Mr Cross! Mrs Arya's water broke! She went into labor!" She said excitedly.

"Wha-what??? Uh I'm coming, I'm coming" I said in shock.

"Come quickly sir. She's still here, she's waiting for you."

"Ok Ok. Uh.. please take care of her, I'm on my way." I said getting up.

After telling my secretary to handle the meeting, I ran outside to see my car ready, with my driver waiting for me.

My thoughts were a mess. I was equally excited but also scared for Arya's and our child's health. 'what if something happens to them? ... what if they get hurt? I'm going to be a father!'

In about 10 minutes, we got home and before the car even came to a stop, I opened the door and ran to the house, in search for Arya.

There, on the couch, sat his gorgeous angel holding her swollen belly. When she heard me come, her jade eyes looked at him with excitement but also fear. He went and gave a kiss to her forehead and carefully stood her up, while taking the hospital bag, after bidding their lovely maid goodbye, Ryker carried her to the waiting car and got in.

Arya got small contractions from time to time. It hurt Ryker to see her in pain.

After about 8 hours of waiting with Arya and listening to her warning and threatening me that she'll 'never let me touch her and if I got her pregnant again, she'll cut my balls and feed it to the cows at the zoo', she gave birth to our little baby boy.

The happiness I felt for my angel and our little guy was crazy. He looked really adorable and tiny. He had my midnight blue eyes and black hair, while he got Arya's nose.

I went to sit next to Arya, who was now holding our baby and looking down at him with so much love. I wrapped one of my arms around my wife and the other around our baby boy. Our little family... I thought happily, smiling at Arya, who looked at me with so much love and affection, I couldn't believe how lucky I got.

"So... what do we call this little troublemaker?" she asked cooing at our boy.

"Kyler? What about you?" I suggested

"Hm... that sounds really nice. I like it!" she said, smiling at me.

"Then you choose the middle name."

"Ok.... Uh....hm... Xavier?"

"That sounds awesome! I'm glad that all those baby name websites you kept browsing through were helpful." I said teasingly.

"Yeah yeah. As if you didn't check out any of those websites." She said rolling her eyes and laughing.

We looked at our baby, who was holding my finger with his little hand.

"Welcome to the world, Kyler Xavier Cross!"
