The air got colder as the night went along and I shiver slightly. Niall's car is parked directly in front of the frat house.''The apartment is about five minutes from here,'' Niall explains, as he slowly lays Finn on the backseat. Emma's opening the door on the other side, holding his head and gently lifting it up. Slowly she sits inside, placing his head on her lap. He groans, a heavy cough leaving his swollen, bloody lips. I can't even look at him, or else I will probably break down in tears.
Closing the door, I lean against it. ''Why won't you take him to the hospital. He can't stay like this,'' I speak, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
''We just can't, okay? Too many questions, and we don't want the police involved into this,'' Niall answers casually. To casual. How many times has that happened before? I did see Finn with a black eye before, but whenever I asked him about it, he would just brush it off with a lame excuse.
I decide to ask him about this later, Niall nor Louis won't answer me anyway.
I sigh. ''And what about Heather?'' I ask, my headache slightly returning. Heather my friend, who's still passed out in a room. In a frat house, drunken, with a party going on. I couldn't stop the worst possible scenarios to start playing in my mind. I can't just leave her here.
''Someone has to wait here and we'll get her after leaving Finn in the apartment. There isn't enough seats in my car.''
''What about Finn's apartment?''
Niall gives me a funny look. ''That is where we are going. I'm his flat mate....''
''Oh.'' Why did Finn never mention anything about Niall?
''How about I stay with Heather,'' Louis suggests. Judging the look I give him he rolls his eyes. Aha, attitude. ''I won't do anything. I'm not that type of a person.''
''Well, I don't know you.''
''Exactly,'' Louis smugly smiles at me, making the corners of my lips twitch. Under any other occasion I would not trust him at all. But I don't have any other choice. Or I'm just too stressed to figure out something smarter.
This is certainly not the way I wanted my birthday to be spend.
Niall claps his hands, rubbing them together. ''It's a plan then. You wait here and we'll get her later.''
Louis and I nod in agreement. I turn to open the door for the passenger door climbing into the car. I roll the window down and Louis sticks his head through. ''She's in the room with the sock on the door knob,'' I explain, Louis laughs.
''How cliché.''
Niall smiles smugly, murmuring, ''my idea,'' under his breath. I roll my eyes, giving Louis my phone.
''If anything happens, Heather knows the lock combination, alright?'' I explain, my vision blurring for a short moment. ''Maybe find Jamie as well?''
Louis nods, taking a few steps back as Niall starts the ignite. In the rush of the events, I decide against the complain that he shouldn't drive, because he drank alcohol. Instead I place my hand gently on my forehead, massaging my skin.
What a birthday. Niall starts driving down the road, and I try not to think of Harry and what I might heard him saying. I'm almost positive that it his words were just an element of my imagination. He couldn't have said that.
I don't think I expected him that violent and cruel. I don't think I expected this night to turn out like this either, and I know I maybe should be angry at my friends for dragging me along this awful party, but I'm not. Not with Finn in this state, or Heather for that matter. I bite the inside of cheek, as I think of the way Harry's eyes widened in shock of my outburst. I never screamed at someone like that. That was a first. When I think about, he really did deserve more.
